Tamagotchi! (たまごっち!) is the first Tamagotchi animated series to air in Japan. It began airing in October 2009 in Japan, and ending in March 2015.

Why It Rocks-tchi

  1. The series is very faithful to the original toy.
  2. Likable characters such as Mametchi, Memetchi (earlier episodes only), Kuchipatchi, Lovelitchi, Kuromametchi and more.
  3. The theme song is very catchy.
  4. A ton of good episodes, such as the first episode of the series.
  5. The show teaches very good morals, such as being nice and friendly.
  6. Character development happens to some of the main characters.
  7. Great backgrounds.
  8. There is a lot of funny moments in the series, especially this one.
  9. The characters designs, especially for Mametchi, Memetchi, Lovelintchi, Makiko, and Himespetchi.

Bad Qualities-tchi

  1. Some unlikable characters, such as Makiko and Uwasatchi.
    • Memetchi has suffered from a very bad case of Flanderization during the second half of Season 1, making her even more bossy and unlikable and also arguably the least tolerable of the main characters, however, she still has moments of being nice, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t immune to being a selfish jerk and Karma Houdini at times.
    • Chamametchi can also be unlikable or annoying depending on your view due to her crying and high-pitched voice.
  2. The anime animation can range from mediocre to just bad.
  3. Some toilet humor is in the series, especially from Kuchipatchi.
  4. Season 1B wasn’t as good as the other seasons, considering it started Memetchi's flanderization and had a few bad episodes.
  5. The English dub only lasted for the first season (except for episode 9) and the first episode of Season 2.
