There are a handful of good superhero kid cartoons out there, but this isn’t one of them.

Teamo Supremo is an American animated television series created by Phil Walsh and aired on Toon Disney and ABC Kids; it ran from 2002 to 2004. It revolves around three child superheroes named Captain Crandall, Skate Lad, and Rope Girl.

Why It's Not Supremo (in a BAD Way)

1. For beginners, the series is a rip-off of The Powerpuff Girls and Mucha Lucha!, as it revolves around a trio of child heroes who fight crime.
2. Bland and unimpressive animation, even for 2000s standards.
3. Mediocre and lazy-looking character designs, especially the main characters.
4. Bland and unlikable characters such as the three main characters, who are just third graders and heroes along with the governor, Kevin, who just recruits heroes as a game.
5. Unoriginal and very laughable names for Teamo Supremo's members.
6. The voice acting is cringeworthy, especially from child actor Spencer Breslin (known for his roles such as Disney's The Kid, The Cat In the Hat, and Zoom).
7. The series' protagonist, Captain Crandall, gives away his secret identity by not wearing a mask and making his real first name (Crandall) the second word in his superhero name.
   • The same thing can be also said about Skate Lad, who, like Captain Crandall, also doesn't wear a mask. But at least he doesn't give away his real name as Captain Crandall does.
8. The backgrounds look unfinished. Interestingly, the show’s aesthetic was also inspired by Jay Ward’s cartoons.

10. Forgettable villains, including Mister Vague.
11. Obnoxious theme song that gets old very quickly.

Redeeming Qualities

1. Some episodes are well structured.
2. While the animation looks bland, it is kinda nice that the show is taking inspiration from old Jay Ward cartoons.
3. The voice acting, except for Alanna Ubach (actress of the main protagonist in El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera) and Spencer Breslin, despite being generic, is kinda passable.

Reception

It has been criticized for its similarities to The Powerpuff Girls and Mucha Lucha! and has a 4/10 on IMDb and a 5.3/10 on TV.com.

Trivia

• The backgrounds being unfinished and the animation being limited is because of the show's aesthetic style being inspired by the old Jay Ward cartoons.
