Plot

Dexter and his father enter a golf tournament, but Dexter's father proves clumsy at it.

Why It Does Not Deserve Golf

  1. The title card here is just a stock sky and grass background with a real golf ball and the words "Tee Party" in a black font, which is very lazy.
  2. Like Father Know's Least, Dad is even more clueless than he usually is here, such as when he didn't even know how to place the ball and had to get a friend to show him - but could do it without help in "A Third Dad Cartoon". He also couldn't tell the difference between a putter and a golf club, didn't know what a penalty or stroke was and called his friends ladies when they're also men. He also refused to accept Dexter's help when he was trying to show him the right way of golf.
  3. The start was very uncomfortable. When Dexter and Dad went to the golf clubhouse, Billy, the golf attendant, (which Tom Kenny did a poor job on), refused to give Dad a golf cart for some reason, took a long deep breath and blamed him for almost getting him fired when getting into trouble, when it was clearly his own fault. Admittedly, Dad was telling him to use rental golf carts, but he did not do anything wrong despite blaming him. However, Billy does help Dad out by givinh him a kiddie bike.
    • Billy believes that there are no golf carts, even though Dad pointed that there are golf carts outside, this proves his stupidity and Dad calls him a liar. It would have make sense when he could have double check when there are golf carts or not.
  4. The kiddie bike Dad rides is uncomfortable.
  5. Dad trying to play golf just dragged on for 5 minutes and served as filler with him not accepting help from Dexter and his friends just watching and not helping at all, until when Dexter used his radio-controlled ball.
  6. As mentioned in WIDNDG#5, Dad's friends did nothing to help him with his golf game and just stood there watching.
  7. Although likable, Dexter used a radio-controlled ball to get Dad a hole in one, which is considered cheating.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Dexter is still a likable character as he tried to help Dad with his golf game by using a radio-controlled ball, despite being cheating as mentioned above.
  2. Good Ending: Dad finally gets a hole in one and so Dexter and him win a silver golf trophy - then Dexter says thanks to Dad and they hug each other.
  3. Good Moral: It is important to play golf fairly. Cheating is not a good thing to do.

Trivia

  • Aaron Springer, who was previously involved as one of the Spumco staff and writer of SpongeBob SquarePants, is the writer of this episode.
