The Castle is the 33rd episode of Season 2 and the 69th episode overall of The Amazing World of Gumball

Plot

Richard is in charge of this house, but things go wrong when guests arrive to party.

Why It's Not a Castle

  1. Misleading Title: The episode's premise is just the citizens of Elmore partying at the Watterson's house, not a castle. Richard even mentions Castle once during the speech with the citizens only to get kicked out by them.
  2. The opening scene leaves a very bad first impression as Gumball and Darwin do not notice that their is school today, but it turns out that it is Saturday, much to their joy.
  3. This is a Wattersons family torture episode as they cannot let them go inside their house because they citizens are partying.
  4. The citizens of Elmore are at their absolute worst since they party hard, they never take criticisms, care for themselves than the Watterson family, and let them get kicked out.
  5. Harold Wilson is unlikable as he literally pokes on other characters just for fun, even when he parties with the other citizens.
    • Him poking at other characters' faces is annoying.
  6. The Donut Cop attempts to go to the Watterson's house, but he is too busy partying with the citizens. This is not right for him since his purpose is to arrest the criminals not to hang out with strangers to party.
  7. Plot Hole: The Watterson famile (except Nicole) would have gotten arrested for shoplifting.
  8. Gumball eating a sandwich with maple sauce and ketchup is disgusting.
  9. The Watterson family has several attempts to bust in their house, but ends up failing:
    • Gumball makes a speech to the citizens that too much freedom can lead to trashing the house, even though he said that "Freedom is beautiful", but the librarian kicks all 4 of them in the house.
    • Gumball calls the Donut Cop to kick the citizens out, but he is still partying with the others.
    • Darwin and Anais use Gumball as a ram to bust in the door, but his face goes through the mail slot while Harold pokes him in the eye.
    • The three are seen disguising as a pizza delivery man but Porky states that the pizza box has no pizzas in it due to Richard eating all of them and gives a speech to the citizens that this is his house. However, Harols and the others disagree with Richard's speech and causes all 4 of them to kick out of the house.
  10. While the ending is good, Nicole's eyes having ghosts in it can scare viewers.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. The Wattersons family is likable in this episode.
    • Nicole punishing the citizens by cleaning their house because for partying leaves to a satisfying ending because she sees all of them trashing their house.
