The Debbie King Show is a short-lived game show that aired on the controversial ITV Play channel, a 24-hour network that aired game shows where the audiences can participate.
Why It Was Cancelled
- The strategies implemented for the show have caused quite a stir among viewers due to their controversial nature. One of these tactics involved charging a fee of 75 pence per call, regardless of whether the call was actually put through.
- The situation was even worse by an extremely low probability of 1 in 8,500 for the call to successfully connect, showing how slimy it is.
- Many of the questions felt too obscure or controversial. One of the biggest examples of this being "Q: What items might be found in a women's handbag?" had the answers balaclava & rawlplugs.
- The Debbie King Show, experienced unfortunate timing as its announcement coincided with the announcement of the network's suspension. Moreover, the show was canceled just one week later when ITV Play closed down. Even the only episode is not available to watch online, marking it as lost media.
- Similar to the reason above, the television show ended after airing only one episode owing to unfortunate timing.
- Because of how controversial and scandalous the show is, Debbie King has ruined her career.
The Only Redeeming Quality
- The Debbie King Show sounded like a neat idea on paper, but it was wasted potential due to the greediness.
