Change can be difficult. But it’s how we grow. It can be the hardest thing to realize you can’t hold onto something forever. Sometimes, you have to let it go. But of the things you let go, you’d be surprised what makes its way back to you. -Anne Boonchuy

The Hardest Thing is the 18th episode of the 3rd season of Amphibia and the finale of the series.
Plot
After Anne and Sasha saved Marcy. The Core took over the moon planning to destroy Amphibia. However the Calamity Trio
Why It Is Not The Hardest Thing
- The fight with the Calamity Trio against the Core is awesome to watch. It is really good to see them uses their full potential of the Calamity power
- Anne sacrificing herself was a very touching moment in the series. Especially the fact that she actually died in Sprig's arms
- This episode ultimately shows how Anne matured herself as at first she was a self-centred teenage girl that used to hate frogs.
- She was willing to sacrifice herself to save her loved one and everyone else even when she is fully aware that she is going to pay her life
- When she meet the Guardian, she did rejected godhood as she said that she's still have to live longer
- The goodbyes between the girls and their friends are so heartbreaking, and what even sadder is that they are permanently separated since the Calamity box was destroyed and the girls can never visits Amphibia anymore.
- The timeskip design of the main characters were well-done
- Anne did became a herpetologist which sounds ironic since at the beggining of the show she used to be disgusted to frogs
The Only Bad Quality
- Many fans were confused about the Guardian wording whether if he meant the copy was her body for her mind being transferred or if it's a clone to replace the original Anne in death.
Reception
The Hardest Thing received 9,7/10 in iMDB and is widely considered to be one of the best cartoon finales so far.
