Plot

It's the night of August 8, 2016, and Five Nights at Freddy's 2nd Anniversary has passed. Celebrated worldwide, the hit indie horror series and its creator have made themselves a place in modern culture and the hearts of many.

But success doesn't only bring fortune to your doorstep.

Play through the eyes of Scott Cawthon and his family, as they try to survive inside their own home on the dreadful night that brought the horror into reality, the scorched beings whose origin and motives are yet unknown. Find the secrets lurking in the house, and uncover the mysterious events that led to the cancellation of the next game in the series.

The tragedy that ended Five Nights at Freddy's.

Why It Rocks

  1. As with its predecessors, the graphics are absolutely stunning, polished and well-made, that actually make the game look like an actual indie game rather than a fan-game, thanks to the power of the Unreal Engine 4. The textures are incredibly detailed, the designs of the Ignited Animatronics are horrifying.
  2. Passable story about the story of Scott Cawthon (the actual creator of Five Nights at Freddy's) surviving from his creations.
  3. There's a good reference, such as the FNaF 2016 game cancelled, which refers to the "cancelled" FNaF 6.
  4. The ending was great and sad, as after you complete the attic, Micheal will kill Scott and he will use his body. Later he will thank Scott Cawthon for his "sacrifice".
  5. The Ignited and Fallen animatronics are horrifying and scary. The Ignited are the classic animatronics ruined and burned. The Fallen animatronics are the Ignited but without the suits.
  6. The game's atmosphere is great thanks to the graphics, fog, and lightning.
  7. It's free to roam, meaning you can go where you want (except Bedroom and Attic).
  8. In August 2020, Scott announced the Fazbear Fanverse Initiative, announcing that The Joy of Creation: Story Mode (along with Reborn and the original version) will be remade and released on consoles and mobile, which is a neat thing.

Bad Qualities

  1. Prior to the 1.3 version, the game had Ignited Bonnie the ability to jumpscare in Office, making the night harder than it already is.
  2. The Attic might be confusing. The cameras say that one animatronic is at the right and the player thinks that he's in the right door, but in reality, "left" and right" indicates HIS left and right. In other words, it's backwards.
  3. Poor introduction in the first level.
  4. The game barely gives you any guide to complete each night.

Trivia

  • In the demo, cutscenes were captioned before captions were then removed completely in the final release.
  • Scott posted about FNaF 6 being cancelled, where at the end of his post, he mentioned that he had fangames to catch up on, listing The Joy of Creation: Story Mode as one of the games he had yet to play.
  • The Joy of Creation series is one of the only FNaF fangames that has been recognized as a game by YouTube.
  • The name of the series might have been derived from the Night 5 call from the original Five Nights at Freddy's. When that night's call is reversed you will hear an exert from Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yoganandawith some words and syllables omitted. At the end of the reversed call, many fans believed to hear the voice say the words: the joy of creation.
    • However, those words are never outright said in the actual exert.
