"The Noisy Night" is the 23rd episode of Season 4 of Peppa Pig. It first aired on December 22, 2011.

Plot

Peppa and her family go to Cousin Chloe's house, but Baby Alexander cries all night.

Why It Should Be Quiet During Nighttime

  1. In this episode, Baby Alexander cries three times, which is very annoying. Not to mention, his crying sound is even more annoying than the usual ones.
    • To make this worse, it's played nonstop.
  2. Due to their noisy nature, the family creates loud sounds to lull Alexander to sleep. These sounds are quite jarring to the ears, especially the trumpet.
  3. Auntie and Uncle Pig are solely focused on their son's sleep. While it's true that infants require the most sleep of any age group, this doesn't mean that other age groups don't also need adequate rest.
  4. Daddy Pig seems quite oblivious as he inquires why Peppa is awake, despite the apparent noise hindering her sleep. Unaware that he has opened Alexander's door and neglected the alarm, his actions inadvertently lead to everyone waking up, exacerbating the situation.
    • The noisy alarm is also very irritating to listen to as well.
  5. Miss Rabbit's appearance in her helicopter is rather unnecessary, as she is only there to check on the family after hearing the alarm, and her presence lasts merely a few seconds.
  6. It can be considered a torture episode for everyone.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. It felt sort of good seeing characters like Chloe again as she and her family don't appear again until Season 6's "Buttercups, Daisies and Dandelions", in which Alexander doesn't cry in.
  2. At least Mummy and Daddy Pig resolve the noise problem.
  3. Unlike Alexander, George thankfully never cries in this episode.
  4. Peppa, George, Mummy Pig, and Chloe are likeable for the most part in this episode.
  5. The beginning and ending were decent.

Reception

It has a score of 4.8/10 on IMDb.

Trivia

  • When the Noisy House alarm goes off, Madame Gazelle and the Zebra family can be seen in the background.
    • This episode marks the very first appearance of Madame Gazelle's house; however, it looked much different than the one in the episode of the same name.
  • Unlike other babies, Baby Alexander loves noise, and it helps him fall asleep whilst most babies in real life need peace and quiet.
  • The Pigs also woke up Mr. Lion, the Rhinoceros, and the Sheep.
  • The Noisy House alarm uses the iPhone ringtone "alarm".
  • Baby Alexander's cooing was reused from Rosie and Robbie Rabbit's cooing from "Mummy Rabbit's Bump".

Errors

  • When the Pig family arrives at Cousin Chloe's house, Uncle Pig tells them they need to rest after miles over being in the car. However, at the end, the Zebra family and Madame Gazelle stand outside their houses when the noise wakes up everyone in the neighborhood. If they drove for miles, how do Zoe and Madame Gazelle make it to playgroup on time every day?
  • At the very end of the episode, when Baby Alexander finally falls sleep, he continues snoring; when the older pigs laugh, it's not heard after he stops.
