"The Slap" is the 35th episode from the season 4 of The Amazing World of Gumball.

Plot

In this episode, Gumball want a butt slap from Tobias after seeing everybody getting one, but not him.

Why It Should Get Slapped

  1. Gumball is very unlikeable character in this episode as he forced Tobias into slapping his butt just because he did not get slapped. He even almost got himself and Tobias killed by dehydration on the school rooftop. He literally get angry at Tobias at the end just for slapping his butt despite pleading him to do so.
  2. Gumball will make you feel uncomfortable because he is literally shifting his butt in front of Tobias just to get it slapped by him. Why?
    • Not to mention that for a kid show it is extremely inappropriate and those kind of scenes are very out of place for the Gumball franchise.
  3. This is a torture episodes for Tobias. Why didn't he report Gumball for harassingly him inappropriately.
  4. It was so weird and gross that Cartoon Network removed the episode reruns after 2024.
  5. Gumball NEVER GOT PUNISHED AT ALL! He made us feel bad for Tobias because of this. Making him a Karma Houdini.
  6. Gumball even sing a song about getting BUTT SLAP!!! Does the writers have a butt fetishes?!
  7. Bad ending: Gumball get slapped in his butt by Tobias before slapping him showing it is for NOTHING and making him a bad hypocrite. Tobias facepalming means he did this for nothing.

The Only Redeeming Quality

  1. Tobias is the only likable characters, despite being an hypocrite at the end.

Trivia

  • Animation from "The Bros" is reused.
  • The fourth wall is broken when Hector accidentally smashes Gumball into the camera, shattering it.
  • After Gumball sings "My Lonely Backside And I," Tobias is seen whistling the song in the school hallway.

Reception

Despite receiving 7.4 out of 10 from its page in ImDB, some people do not like this episode because of Gumball acting like a hypocrite, the butt jokes overused and being a Tobias torture episode.
