The Snoring is the 10th episode of the first season of George of the Jungle (2007).

Plot

George finds himself helpless to stop Ape's loud snoring at night.

Why It's a Snore

  1. Very nonsensical plot about ape (and later George) getting bugs up their noses which causes them to snore loudly.
  2. The title is very misleading as it makes you think that it will be a parody of "The Shining", but it has nothing to do with the film that the title is parodying.
  3. All of George and Ape's friends are extremely unlikable on this episode as they banish George and Ape from the jungle just so they can go to sleep and stop hearing them snore.
  4. And to add insult to injury, they don’t even get punished for doing this.
  5. George is also unlikable on this episode since instead of asking Dr Towel Scott and The Witch Doctor to remove the bug from Ape's nose, he instead gets the idea to have a bug up his nose so he can snore louder than Ape.
  6. Ape and George's loud snoring is very annoying.
  7. When George and Ape's friends are angry and walk up to get rid of George and Ape, in one scene, it looks like Shep the Elephant is smiling rather than looking angry or annoyed, which is kind of creepy and unsettling.
  8. The close-up of the inside of George's nose is very gross.
  9. Half-bad ending: While George and Ape might’ve successfully had the bugs leave their noses, George and Ape are still banished while the bugs fly up a baboon's nose which might have him snore loudly and keep everyone up again.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Ape is the only likable character on this episode.
  2. A few funny moments like Ape getting a rhino horn stuck up his nose and Dr Towel Scott's nose growing big and having the witch doctor get stuck up his nose.
  3. Half-decent ending: At least George and Ape have successfully had the bugs leave their noses.
