Ticket to Riches is an episode from the second season of The Garfield Show.
Plot
After winning a jackpot in a lottery, Garfield, Odie and Jon take a big step in luxury.
Why It's A Ticket To Bankruptcy
- Stupid premise: Jon thinks he won the lottery when his number was "7945063", but loses his ticket when it's time to cash it in.
- Bad ending: It turns out that the numbers on the ticket were "7945068" instead of "7945063" as Garfield covered the 8 with pizza sauce. Thus, a old lady brought a ticket and win. Then, Garfield and Jon cry outside to their despair, much to Odie's annoyance.
- Garfield and Jon are really selfish to Odie.
- The animation, as usual, is very out of date, jagged, and robotic.
- The scene where Garfield and Jon chase the garbage truck served as filler.
- This episode feels like a rehash of the Garfield and Friends episode "Fat and Furry", but less funny.
Redeeming Qualities
- Some funny moments such as when Jon bounced around the walls when he thought he had the right numbers.
- Odie comes off as very sympathetic.
