Toddworld is an American Canadian Flash animated children's television series produced by Mike Young Productions and created by Gerry Renert and Todd Parr. The series aired between November 8, 2004 and 2007, consisting of 39 episodes.

Plot

ToddWorld is an animated children's TV program about the adventures of a boy named Todd and his friends. The show is notable for its bold lines and bright colors. Each episode conveys a message about tolerance, diversity and acceptance.

Why It's Okay to be Us

  1. The series stays true to Todd Parr's books regarding life lessons and animation style.
  2. The animation, while simplistic, is bright and colorful and as noted above is 100% faithful to Todd Parr's art style.
  3. Catchy and heartwarming theme song that tells how great the bright blue world is and how you should be as well.
  4. A sense of humor and quirky morals that is best described by the show's tagline "Very Silly, Very Smart".
  5. Creative ideas and concepts that feel like what you could imagine in your imagination.
  6. Good voice acting.
  7. A fun and creative cast of characters.

Bad Qualities

  1. Some of the characters are pretty mean-spirited.
    • Todd and Stella can be mean spirited at times.
  2. There are a handful of bad/mediocre episodes.
  3. Maggie Blue O'Hara did a poor job voicing Stella in season 1 as she sounds like a teenage girl rather than a 11-year-old girl. Thankfully, Britt McKillip did a better job voicing Stella in Season 2 than the former.
  4. Stella's fear of different ears was unjustified.

Reception

It holds a 7.6 out of 10 on IMDb.

Trivia

  • Similarly with what happened to seasons 12-15 of Arthur, Drake & Josh, Lilo & Stitch: The Series and Clifford's Puppy Days, the show was originally produced in 16:9 widescreen HD. Discovery Kids aired the show in 4:3 standard definition instead. Mercifully, Qubo and digital VOD prints of the show have its original 16:9 high definition format preserved.
