Together Breakfast is the 4th episode of Steven Universe.

Plot

After Steven prepares his special breakfast for the Crystal Gems, he spies in their respective rooms in the Crystal Temple to investigate.

Qualities That Deserve Together Breakfast

1. At first, when Steven makes his breakfast for the Crystal Gems, he believes that they will treat them, but they are too busy with their routines instead.
2. Garnet's Crystal Door entrance is cool, as she uses her palms to scan the door, thus creating a Y symbol.
   • Amethyst's door entrance is a wavy line while Pearl's entrance is a line and a circle, which are cool entrances.
3. There are suspense scenes involving Steven's Together Breakfast:
   • When Steven asks Pearl to eat the breakfast he made, she yells to him to get out, but he accidentally slides on the waterfall-like slide to land in Amethyst's room.
   • Steven tells Amethyst about the situation before proceeding to show the Together Breakfast. However, Amethyst chases Steven because she wants to eat it, even though this is for everyone.
   • After they and Pearl enter Garnet's room, they ask Garnet to eat breakfast while Garnet is busy trapping the smoke into the bubble. Due to their pestering, the bubble pops, and the smoke possesses Together Breakfast, causing it to turn into a monster.
   • The Breakfast monster is to unify the gems not to attack it, which Steven forces it into the pit of lava, thus defeating it.
4. Afterward, they prepare their own Together Breakfast, albeit bigger, but they refuse since they are suspicious about the monster it possesses, thus ordering pizza as breakfast instead.
   • That one is considered a good twist ending considering that they are too scared to eat after realizing that the breakfast is the monster from before.
5. Everyone is likable in this episode.
   • The Breakfast monster seen at the climax is intimidating.
6. Garnet's line: "It did try to kill us" is hilarious.

Qualities That Do Not Deserve Together Breakfast

1. Sadly, this is a Steven torture episode as he keeps waiting for the gems to return in the kitchen to eat.
2. Minor Plot Hole: After Steven slides into the waterfall, the breakfast he makes somehow survives, despite getting soggy after dipping it into the water in real life.

Trivia

• Each of the gems' Crystal Temple entrances has a similar color respective to their appearances:
  • Garnet's Crystal Entrance has the shape of a "Y" after the two gems glow (Ruby and Sapphire)
  • Amethyst's Crystal Entrance has a purple wavy line after an Amethyst-like color glows.
  • Pearl's Crystal Entrance has a blue line with a ring in the center of the gate after a Pearl-like color glows (which has a cyan-colored light).
    • Of all the gems, Steven is the only character whose entrance is not seen until Rose's Room.
• The Together Breakfast as food also returns in Reunited and Snow Day, as well as the video games, Attack the Light and Save the Light.
