Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Lone Wolf is a tactical first-person shooter released exclusively for the Sony PlayStation in 2002, developed by Rebellion and published by Ubi Soft Entertainment. The plot follows RAINBOW operative Ding Chavez as he is sent on a mission to stop a terrorist threat in a Norwegian resort town Solhiea.

Why It's Lonely

1. Very short, with only five missions that you can beat it under 20 minutes if you know what you're doing.
   • This also makes it the same length as Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Eagle Watch.
2. The "pick up and play" controls are too clunky to use. In fact, the game CANNOT be completed with the digital controller, meaning that you have to use the DualShock controller.
3. No music during gameplay.
4. The gunplay is a mixed bag, and some of the weapons are misidentified.
5. The difficulty is absolutely relentless; sometimes the game can be too hard or just plain hard, as the AI can easily shoot you if you're a few feet away from them.
6. The sound design is pretty poor.
7. You get an ending, but it's a lackluster one. You just pop the last terrorist, get a text message from John Clark and the credits roll.
8. It's the most lifeless game in the entire series, which means that it was simply made for a quick buck.
9. No voice acting, aside from enemies shouting "Hey!" or "Hey you!"
10. Like the PlayStation version of the original Rainbow Six, you only get preset insertion points, as there's no way to manually plan your mission.
11. The game came out on the PlayStation in 2002, despite the fact that the PlayStation 2 had already come out.

The Only Redeeming Quality

1. The graphics are adequate for a late PS1 game.

Reception

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Lone Wolf received mixed reviews. It currently has a 2.69 on GameFAQs.
