Summary

Princess Toadstool falls into King Goo Goo Ga Ga Koopa's Fountain of Youth and gets turned into a baby. Now Mario, Luigi and Toad must babysit her until they can find a way to get her back to her normal state.

Why The Extra Pipe Wasn't Enough To Fix This

  1. For starters, it has the overused cliché where the innocent character gets turned into a baby.
  2. Misleading title: The title is a pun on Three Men and a Baby, yet the plot is a parody of I Was a Teenage Werewolf because of Princess Toadstool's transformation. Therefore, this episode should have been titled, "I Was a Teenage Baby".
  3. The infamous and shockingly disturbing scene where Baby Princess Toadstool cries very loudly after being put to sleep by Mario's lullaby.
    • Also, Princess Toadstool's scream during the scene is disturbingly realistic.
  4. This episode is a Princess Toadstool torture episode because of the crying scene mentioned above.
  5. A LOT of animation and continuity errors. The crowning jewel being the one where Luigi's hat is in the same color as Mario's and Mario talks with Luigi's voice. Witness the confusing chaos for yourself.
  6. King Koopa (or King Goo Goo Ga Ga Koopa, as he is called here) is unlikable, disgusting, and immature. He managed to switch the lever on the Fountain to Youth to the baby position and turn the old men into babies. He also still dresses up as and acts like a baby, despite being an adult.
  7. It's unusual how Mario, Luigi and Toad would babysit someone who turned into a baby.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Good ending, where the Princess and the three old men turn back into their normal ages.
  2. The opening scene is decent as well.
  3. Baby Princess Toadstool's design is admittedly cute.
  4. King Koopa got what he deserved in the end, flying into the Fountain of Youth and getting turned into a baby, marking his defeat. This is, of course, due to him being the villain.
  5. Baby Princess Toadstool actually did have a very good speaking voice, and spoke a few complete sentences like "I like you, Uncle Mario! You're fun!".
  6. The live action segment "Lost Dog" was actually quite decent (and is far better than the actual episode itself).

Reception

"Two Plumbers and a Baby" was met with mixed to very negative reception from critics, audiences, and some fans of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, mainly due to the scene where Baby Princess Toadstool cries just as Mario, Luigi and Toad are about to walk away from her.
