"Under the Sea" (French: "Sous l'Océan") is the eighth episode from season three of Zig & Sharko and the one hundred and sixty-fourth episode overall.
Plot
In this episode, when the ship sinks underwater, Sharko tries to take the opportunity to kill some nostalgic memories of swimming in the ocean, but Marina forces him to help her fix the boat instead.
Why It's In the Bottom of the Barrel
- This episode is a torture episode for Sharko, as he is forced by Marina to fix the ship, despite that it isn't even him why did destroyed the ship, this further prove how flanderized Marina was starting in season 3.
- Marina is extremely annoying in this episode, as not only she does force Sharko to repair the ship but also, she doesn't even know that he didn't really did it, and the reason he accidently exploded the ship is because of saving her from Zig.
- The episode pacing is quite slow for a Zig & Sharko episode, as it mostly just focus on Sharko repair the ship, and instead of feeling like the episode is 7 minutes long, it will feel like 11 minutes, and not in a good way.
- Zig plan is not good since the only thing he does is at first making the ship progression much shorter by Sharko throwing projectiles at him, but also it did lead to Sharko destroying the entire ship for stopping Zig, which is just stupid.
- Sharko received so much torture that he destroyed the ship with his punch, because of Marina forcing him to repair the ship, when it wasn't really him who did it, and even if he partially did, his karma is not deserved here.
- Plot Hole: How did Sharko created another ship in only a few seconds, we know that this is cartoon logic but even by this show standards, this doesn't make any senses.
- This episode teach a bad moral that if someone accidently destroyed something, then if you're the husband you need to repair that persons craps, even if it's not you.
Redeeming Qualities
- Sharko is a likable character, and his flanderization is not present here.
- Good Ending: At least Sharko did finally get to be with his friends and to do his nostalgic swimming, and did made another ship.
