Turbo F.A.S.T is an American Flash-animated web television series based on the 2013 computer-animated film Turbo. Produced by DreamWorks Animation Television and animated by Titmouse, it is known for being the first Netflix original series for children, and the first DreamWorks Animation series produced for Netflix.
Plot
After Turbo the Snail's improbable win at the Indianapolis 500 in the movie, the superfast racer finds his life forever changed after he returns from his victory tour. Namely, Tito, his human companion, has built Starlite City, a massive miniature city with an elaborate adjoining race track for Turbo and his fellow snails to live and race in. However, Turbo finds his new life no less hectic as he and his friends face new rivals of all varieties eager to take the champion on. Regardless of the danger, Turbo and his colleagues of the Fast Action Stunt Team are ready for the challenge.
Why These Seasons Goes Fast Indeed
- The animation is rough, stylized, colorful, and bouncy, thanks to Titmouse, Inc. production for its use of flash animation.
- It is perfectly faithful to the movie as some of the characters returned in this series.
- Every snail in the F.A.S.T crew has distinct and unique characteristics, along with the villains.
- The show is even more funnier than the movie.
- Great soundtrack.
- One of the best aspects of this show is that it goes beyond just snails and incorporates insects, birds, reptiles, and all sorts of other animals into the mix (again all with their own personalities).
- The show features very distinct characters that are often played by a wide cast of talented voice-over actors such as: Reid Scott, Eric Bauza, Michael Patrick Bell, John Eric Bentley, Grey DeLisle-Griffin, Phil LaMarr and Amir Talai.
- Every character is projected with unique features, tag lines, moves, and looks and it makes it a fun journey for the viewer to discover the characters bit by bit in every episode.
- Most episodes feature a race with a different rival with often very funny characteristics. There might be an additional task, like a mini-quest or fight or character dilemma, but in general, the series is about the race and this time all the snails do the race.
- The characters are more expressive than ever, especially with the new break-neck-paced animation.
- Lots of memorable and likable characters such as: Turbo, Tito, Skidmark, Burn, White Shadow, Whiplash, Smoove Moove, Chet, Hardcase, Dunce, Mel Shellman and more.
- Lots of great and memorable episodes such as:
- Crazy Fast (which started the series and season 1 on a high note)
- Dungball Derby
- Hardcase Returns
- Turbo Drift
- Ready, Set, Glow
- Beat-A Fajita
- Surf'N Turf
- Buster Move
- Balloonatics

- The Snailman

- It overall started the trend of steaming exclusive DreamWorks shows on a high note.
Bad Qualities
- Some of the characters can be unlikable such as Dean Cuizeen and Marty, they are so hated that they didn't appear in the second and third seasons.
- The show went severely downhill in it's third and final season.
- Even before the third season, the first two seasons has a fair share of bad episodes such as:
- Some of the characters from the movie such as Bobby, Angelo, and Paz, are barely seen in this show.
- While the voice acting is good, sadly some of the actors from the movie didn't return such as Ryan Reynolds.
Trivia
- Ryan Reynolds and much of the original cast were never asked to reprise their roles, except Mike Bell as White Shadow and Ken Jeong as Kim Ly.
- This is the first Netflix original show for children, as well as the first collaboration between DreamWorks Animation and Netflix.
