Pretty Cure (ふたりはプリキュア We are Pretty Cure) is a Japanese animated television series produced by Toei Animation for the Asahi Broadcasting Corporation. The series was the first installment of the Pretty Cure series and was aired on all ANN stations in Japan from February 1, 2004 to January 30, 2005 and was succeded by a sequel known as Pretty Cure Max Heart

Plot

Nagisa and Honoka, two girls with opposite personalities encounter mysterious creatures that fled Earth from the evil Dotsukuzone. They are granted the power to transform into super heroes called PreCure to fight evil enemies.

Why This Show is UNBELIEVABLE!!!

  1. The show is a major improvement over any magical girl-themed show produced by Toei Animation. The animation is way more stunning than any other magical girl show around at that time.
  2. The sporty Nagisa is an extremely likable protagonist, her skills whenever she's playing lacrosse and being a Pretty Cure is much way better than her counterpart in Max Heart and any of the franchise's spin-off films.
  3. Honoka, while being the quiet girl in the duo, is always intelligent and extremely knowledgeable.
  4. Meeple and Mipple, are also very awesome companions to the duo.
  5. The writing is on par with any western show that aired around this timeframe.
  6. The theme song is very catchy.

Bad Qualities

  1. The titular duo was heavily flanderized by the time the All-Stars movies were released as well as their cameos in Hug! Pretty Cure .
  2. The show's Canadian English dub also has many bad changes regarding Japanese culture such as the characters' names being changed and many items were localized among many others.
    • This would later overshadow to also what happened with Glitter Force many years later.
  3. The Latin Spanish dub, is also a bad example of Televisa not ever caring about anime at all, and even more reliant on content that they produce (such as telenovelas). Also, only 26 episodes were dubbed leaving the final stretch of the show undubbed.
