Consistently good content updates such as Beyond, Orbital and most recently (and famously) Worlds
The visuals got a massive upgrade from how they looked originally
on the topic of these content updates each of them added new things that have enhanced the experience
Worlds overhauled the planets and enhanced the visuals making the game look better and planets feel better alongside adding a new miniboss: the Brood Mother ^[1]
Orbital overhauled space stations making them look more like real life or sci-fi space stations ^[2]
New planet types have since been added such as desert, toxic and Gamma Intensive, the latter two are both more extreme versions of already exsting planet types
New types of space stations were added (such as the abandoned and outlaw space stations) and the "NEXT" update added uncharted systems in which there are no space stations ^{[citation needed]}
Waypoint added new types of Sentinels like the Dissonant Sentinels which are a new type of aggressive sentinels and relaxed mode alongside coinciding with the switch release of the game ^[3]

Consistently long load times even on digital copies of the game
there are still bugs although none of them are too severe mainly just things like artifacts at the bottom of the screen or visual glitches which do not affect gameplay
Some versions such as the switch version are missing certain features

While still playable, the game can lag quite a bit on eighth generation hardware in crowded areas, this is especially inexcusable because the game runs very well on Nintendo Switch which has hardware similar to the Xbox 360 ^[4] ^[5]
