Potential candidates for the staff of this wiki [420 words]
(created by Grabbergirl678 on 2024 May 4 Sat 19:35:12 GMT)
With the ongoing controversy regarding CJWorld's handling of New Qualitipedia such as the 14th rule (which is abolished now, but still), move warring based on his personal opinions, apparent lack of activity, randomly siding with problematic users like MisterSandManAU without seeing the bigger picture, as well as not listening to feedback from other users when necessary, various users, including Raidarr, have been calling out CJ for all of those things and this wiki is in danger again because of everything I've just mentioned and a while ago, Original Authority even threatened to shut this place down if things aren't under control again, so I believe NQP is in need of new members of its staff, whether they're bureaucrats, administrators, or even moderators, to expand said staff and help this wiki get back on track. Who are some possible candidates for the staff? Well, those are @ToTheEdge, @TheSun42, @TheMoonandEarth, @SpaceProtagonist, and @SlashcraftGaming. I think these guys have potential to be new members of the staff due to their maturity, reliance, responsibility, and the fact that some of them are even current admins on wikis outside of this one. Heck, Batboy, a mod here, maybe promoted to an admin if he's interested. However, I'm only an admin, so I can't make any of these guys admins, but I can make at least some of them mods because some of them even requested to have the latter roles and someone like Raidarr can make the rest of them admins or bureaus. To CJWorld: if you see this blog post, please don't consider it a personal attack towards you and I don't think you're generally a bad user and all, but throughtout this wiki's lifetime, you've started to become less and less compitent as its leader and founder, and other users are criticizing you for your recent management because of the issues I've stated at the beginning of this blog, so I suggest you either improve yourself as a bureaucrat, or step down from that role. I'm only saying this, because I want what's best for you and this wiki, and I'm trying really hard to make sure this wiki doesn't collapse further and further. Additionally, whether or not you remain a bureau, new staff members will be added, regardless. To any user who's actually worthy of becoming a new staff member, please leave a comment and ask whichever role is best suited for you, and I'll see to it that you get said role fairly soon. Things about this wiki that need to be changed [999 words]

Hi, so I've been meaning to make a blog like this months ago, but I'd been a little occupied by other things that happened in this wiki and outside of it, so I thought now would be the right opportunity to do so. So, there are issues about this wiki that I'd been noticing while I was still a lurker and I never really intended to even make an account here in the first place, but these problems were so apparent that I had no choice but to join Telepedia and take care of them myself (maybe with a little help from others, too). Anyway, here is the list of issues on this wiki that should finally be addressed, and something should be done about them, like maybe a rule or 2 against them or something like that... Abuse Of Mature/NSFL/NSFW Templates Does remember back on Miraheze when templates like the NSFW were inappropriately added to pages that never even needed them in the first place, like how people were persistently adding it to the One Coarse Meal page on TTSW? Well, this problem is still going on to this day, despite Qualitipedia transitioning from Miraheze to Telepedia. For example, on this wiki, the NSFL template was added to a few kids show pages, and the template was deleted afterwards and so was the NSFW template, because the Mature one already exists, and speaking of the Mature template, a while ago, it suffered from massive abuse because a user named Latiro was adding it to a few Ed Edd N Eddy-related pages and I don't know why. On top of that, FreezingTNT added said template to talk pages, despite the fact that they don't even need a template of any kind, which really made me question the existence of the Mature template in the first place. I know that Tali is finding a way to make the template less abusible, but if nothing can be solved regarding this issue, then we might have to kiss the Mature template goodbye, as this wiki is starting to become TTSW all over again. Custom Headings On Average/Decent Pages And Normal Pages With Redeeming/Bad Pointers Another problem that this wiki is apparently having is that custom headers are used on literally EVERY SINGLE HEADING on a page rather than exclusively on Why It Sucks/Rocks sections. I even remember those awful times when users would add "Autobot Qualities" and/or "Decepticon Qualities" to Transformers pages on Miraheze, despite the fact that Qualitipedia had a rule against adding custom headings on average pages and Bad/Redeeming Qualities on normal pages at the time. On New Qualitipedia, this problem relates to not only a few Transformers pages, but also almost every single page on the entire wiki on this site. Not to mention that I accidentally got into a staff edit war over custom headers being added the The Lorax page despite that being an average page. Now, I'm not saying we should ban custom headings entirely, because they're obviously important to QP; I'm just saying that we should probably regulate them by having them be ONLY added to Why It Rocks/Sucks sections and NEVER on average/decent pages let alone Bad/Redeeming Qualities sections on regular pages like we used to in the old days when QP was on Miraheze. Overuse Of The "Depending On Your View" Quote Now I know that this issue was already addressed by a few users like Raidarr and March, but this is still something I think is worth mentioning because doing so has been long overdue in my opinion. I remember back on Miraheze almost every single page had this statement, that it was starting to become really irritating because not only has it been said to death, but it's lazy, it's opinionated, and it just flat out contradicts the goal of Qualitipedia bringing up objective facts and adding a quote like that in any shape or form looks like we're adding personal opinions to a few pages and it also defeats the purpose of QP being as objective as possible. I am, however, glad that something about this is dealt with since other users have been acknowledging it for a while. Sandboxes Of Unreleased/Upcoming Projects And for the final issue to address: making sandboxes of media that isn't even out yet. For a while, I've been seeing users like MarioBobFan create sandboxes of projects of that aren't/weren't out yet, like the Mario movie a year ago before it was released on April 5th, and he's even working on a sandbox about its unannounced sequel. I find the idea of allowing users to create sandboxes of unreleased games, movies, shows, etc. arbitrary, because not only are a lot of these things in their mediums not even out yet, but because we don't know if they're gonna be good or bad or not, so I think it would be bettet to sandboxes of them AFTER they come out, not before. Aftet all, the old QP did have a rule against making such a sandbox, and I and many others agreed to it, so I think it would be best if such a rule was added to this wiki. And these are the things I think should be changed. For those who've read this blog, please leave a comment or 2 here, and let me hear your thoughts on these matters. One mire thing: CJWorld, if you're reading this, while you've been a good leader on this wiki and have done a good job at administration, I sorta feel like you've been a LITTLE too lenient on a lot of things on this wiki, especially with allowing users to make sandboxes of unreleased media, and I kinda feel that you could be a little bit more assertive about them. Not too overboard, but still assertive enough to keep this wiki going. I don't want you take what I've just said to you personally. Comments <comments />
