Plot

Garfield discovers a new 3D format TV channel and ends up in the TV. Jon enlists the help of a scientist, Professor Bonkers, to help him get out. Meanwhile, Garfield goes into commercials, a parade show, educational shows, cooking shows, game shows, and movies.

Why It Rocks

  1. The concept of the new 3D format channel Garfield comes across on TV, Virtualodeon, is & looks very impressive, as it has the stuff from the TV in your own home (literally without glasses!)
  2. Jon's famous quote "Did you really think you could defeat me wretched fool?" - which is nothing short of hilarious along with the television parodies Garfield comes across at the start and even the chase scene between the people/creatures on TV and Garfield.
  3. Garfield appearing on all the television channels/parodies was amazing to watch, and is an updated version of "The Lasagna Zone" from Garfield and Friends & "Channel Chasers" from The Fairly OddParents.
  4. Garfield, Jon and Odie are still tolerable characters, along with the Virtualodeon manager, with the first two not showing their flanderization, Jon's aforementioned famous quote, Jon becoming concerned about Garfield getting into the television, changing the channel to see what happens next and getting the manager of Virtualodeon to fix the problem. And the channel manager to getting Garfield out of the television.
  5. The way Garfield gets the people/creatures out of real life is very clever, as he trips on the television cable, causing the TV to go off.
  6. Good Ending: Although Garfield gets chased by the people/creatures from the TV when escaping there, he puts them back into the TV by tripping on the cable, and it ends with the Virtualodeon manager getting chased by Rob the Giant Chicken & the spy lady.

Reception

It holds a rating of 7.1/10 on IMDB.

Trivia

  • Like many other episodes involving a character going into the television, there are some parodies:
    • The Weakest Brain is a parody of the British game show, "The Weakest Link".
    • Agent 008 is a parody of the James Bond films.
