Water Park Prank is the 36th episode of Season 6 of Adventure Time.
Plot
After rescuing Princess B'Onangutan from Daddy Sad Heads, Finn and Jake head to a post-apocalyptic water park for a day of fun.
Why It's Not a Good Prank
- This episode is unnecessary filler. This is justifiable, though, since it's a guest-animated episode.
- Finn, Jake, and the Ice King have all inexplicably reverted to their Season 1 personalities, which starkly contrasts with the amount of development they've gotten throughout the series.
- Horrible animation. While there are many guest-animated episodes of Adventure Time, the others use a style faithful to the series proper (A Glitch is a Glitch, Beyond the Grotto, etc.); this episode uses a jarring, flat cut-out style.
- The designs are very ugly and hideous, especially for Finn, Jake, and the Ice King.
- Finn and Jake get the Ice King banned from the water park because of their prank and get away with it.
- One of the lifeguards is pretty dumb, as he gets easily fooled by Finn and Jake's prank (despite how obvious it is) and blames the Ice King for "climbing back up the slide", even though it's clear he didn't do anything.
- The plot is extremely dull, and not much happens compared to most episodes.
- Awful ending: Finn gets infected by several Daddy Sad Heads, and it looks disturbing and gross.
Redeeming Qualities
- The voice acting is still good as always.
- Unlike most of the character designs in this episode, Gunter actually looks good here and still retains his cuteness.
- Thankfully, this episode is considered non-canon.
Reception
"Water Park Prank" was negatively received even among Adventure Time fans, and has a meager 4.9/10 on IMDb, making it the lowest-rated episode in the series.
