WeRBopBop was an American adult anime-influenced internet animated series made by the Brooklyn-based animators Ben and Sebastian Conley. It first premiered on 28 February 2008. It has 20 episodes in total. It can be seen in most video sharing websites, like YouTube, Newgrounds, DailyMotion, FunnyJunk, etc.
Plot
In a world inhabited by chibi-looking characters, Disco Cool BopBop, Pussycat, Ninja BopBop, Mistress BopBop, Zilla BopBop and Robo BopBop, live in a series of adventure in the first cartoon ever to take requests from viewers through a unique, online, digg-like interface.
Why WeR Not Going to Watch This Show
- The animation looks incredibly lazy even for late 2000's webtoon standards, with several animation errors through the characters movements. But the worst offender it's the first episode that uses too many flashing lights which can get people seizures from watching.
- There are tons of toilet jokes that are easily seen in some episodes, mainly on the episode "Magical Marijuana" which has got the most fart jokes out of all the episodes, as it has Power Star BopBop farting all over the time.
- Speaking of Power Star BopBop, Episode 7 ends with him getting killed by Panda BopBop who rips his heart using a flag, eats them and she later poops over his dead corpse which is very disgusting to watch.
- What's even worse than the toilet jokes are the sex jokes present in the show most of the time.
- The lip-syncing is rather weak, mainly due to the characters talking way too fast. Sometimes, it gets confusing what the characters are saying.
- Some of the characters in the show range from unlikable to downright god-awful, an example is the main character Disco Cool BopBop who is just a perverted and disgusting character that only cares about watching porn, as there's also Mistress BopBop who just swears for no reason at all.
- There are lots, but not all, of disgraceful episodes, including:
- "Dick Rolled" is arguably the worst episode of the series, since it's focus on that outdated Get Rick Rolled trend that was popular around the time the videos where released, as it mostly ends with Disco Cool BopBop killing Rick Astley by shooting him and them cutting off his private parts using a chainsaw and filming himself with it. in which he can be arrested for that.
- "Princess BopBop's Magical Rainbow Castle" in which Princess BopBop gets abused by the other BopBops for not playing with them.
- "Pregnant Tranny" is also considered the worst.
- "Panda BopBop Sells Lollipops" who focus on Panda BopBop selling lollipops dipped with his own feces.
- "John Rambo McCain vs Obama Bin Laden" was a wretched way to end the series, as it literally ends with the characters watching a movie about John McCain and Barack Obama fighting over a war and it just ends right there, not to mention it looks like they're watching the trailer instead of the actual full movie.
- The show often fails at makes commentary over religions like Christianity and even went too far of disrespecting Jesus. One example is at the end of Episode 6, where Jesus having homosexual sex with Disco Cool BopBop. Another example is where in the episode, "Pope Wars", the plot focuses on the titular Pope and his plot for universal sex to small children. However, the pope was actually revealed to be Disco Cool BopBop all along.
- Speaking of Jesus as a character, he is one of those few characters who are often hogging up the screen, along with Disco Cool BopBop.
- Annoying voice acting, especially from Disco Cool and Pussycat.
- Poor soundtrack that mostly consists into the series' instrumental theme song being played in a loop.
Qualities WeR Going to Love
- There are some characters considered decent, such as Ninja BopBop, Power Star BopBop, Robo BopBop, and Princess BopBop.
- The character designs and backgrounds look very cute.
