Wipeout is an American television game show. It features contestants competing in (what was billed as) the "World's Largest" obstacle course which originally aired on ABC from June 24, 2008, to September 7, 2014. In 2021, 7 years after the original series ended, a reboot of Wipeout started in 2021, which airs on TBS.

Premise

Co-hosts John Anderson and John Henson narrate contestants completing obstacle courses over water, and interviewers Jill Wagner (in season 1-4 and 6-7) and Vanessa Lachey (only in season 5) find out more about the contestants on the show.

Why It Rocks

  1. The hosting by John Anderson, John Henson, Jill Wagner, and Vanessa Lachey is great.
  2. John Anderson and John Henson's commentary and humor are both well made and funny.
  3. Winter Wipeout and Spring Wipeout were nice sequels to the show.
  4. The obstacles are awesome and well designed, such as: The Big Balls, The Sweeper, and others.
  5. The theme song, as well as the other music is catchy.
  6. Season 4 not only had Summer episodes, but it also had Spring episodes and Winter episodes.

Bad Qualities

  1. In the shows final season, finalists do not have to get through the Wipeout Zone in its entirety to make it to the end, resulting at the end of these episodes being much less compelling and suspenseful.
  2. The franchise went downhill after the 2021 reboot.
