Wonder Pets! is an American animated children's television series. It debuted March 3, 2006, on the Nick Jr. block of the Nickelodeon cable television network and ended after a ten-year run on March 9, 2016. It is created by Josh Selig, who had also created Oobi.

Plot

Linny the Guinea Pig, Tuck the Turtle, and Ming-Ming the Duckling travel around the world to rescue animals. Geared toward preschoolers, these three classmates are up for any challenge in this photo-puppetry animated series. Episodes encourage teamwork and problem-solving as well as singing and an appreciation of music and laughter.

Why It's On Their Way

1. The idea of superhero pets is really cute and interesting.
2. Simplistic and cutesy cut-out animation.
3. Catchy musical numbers.
4. Linny (guinea pig), Tuck (turtle), and Ming-Ming (duckling) are really cute.
5. Teaches kids about the benefits of teamwork and how important it can be.
6. Adorable voice acting.
7. Some pretty clever dialogue (mainly from Ming-Ming), and pop culture references (there are references to The Beatles) for a preschool show.
8. Awesome soundtrack for a preschool/Nick Jr. show, as the soundtrack for this show was directed with a 10-person orchestra.
9. Managed to have a reboot that stayed 100% faithful to the original source material.

Bad Qualities

1. While the songs is really catchy, it become repetitive.
2. Some of the character designs are pretty creepy.
3. "Save the Puppy!" and "Save the Skunk!" overuse gross-out humor. In the former episode, the Wonder Pets help a puppy go to the bathroom, while in the latter episode the skunk sprays Ollie in the face. This is unnecessary for television programs aimed to preschool children, promoting Nickelodeon to banning the the former episode.

Trivia

• The show was moved to the Nick Jr. channel, where the majority of Season 3 aired.
• When the second season ended in 2009, the show went on a long hiatus but stayed on for quite a while after. In 2013, it was moved to the Nick Jr. channel and a new half-hour special featuring the characters premiered. Another new regular episode was released in 2015, followed by three more in 2016.
• In recent years, the show spawned a lot of memes - including Ming-Ming's famous quote "This is sewious!"
