"Zig Top Chef" (French: "Zig Chef") is the sixty-third episode from season two of Zig & Sharko and the one hundred and forty-first episode overall. It was written by Caroline Torreli and storyboarded by Jérôme Fardini.

Plot

In this episode, Sharko is a hopeless cook. He decides to train with the best chef on the island: Zig! They get busy with pots, pans, fresh ingredients and exotic herbs. Marina’s right there, eager to taste every dish. But she’s the one dish Zig wants to taste...

Why It's A Chef

  1. This episode concept is amazing and even creative since it's about who is the better chef with both Zig and Sharko, and it adapt very well to the slapstick formula of the show while still showing them cocking.
  2. Very likable characters as always, even if Zig is slightly unlikable due to him saying a big "boo" to one of Sharko cake.
  3. The way Zig cock is really well done and also pretty amusing because sometime he does kung fu moves while sometime, he does cook but with cartoon logic, which is pretty funny.
    • Sharko way to cook is also very funny and entairtaining since he always struggle to do something great, even for an egg, until the end where he did cook very well.
  4. Ton of funny and memorable moments are present, such as the aforementioned ways of both Zig and Sharko cooking, or even when Zig did say boo when Sharko did an egg.
  5. The foods that Zig made and also those of Sharko at the end look very well made and delicious.
  6. The scene where Zig and Sharko do foods in the jungle while making a match of who the better chef is very entertainning and also they give them to some animals, such as a gorilla and birds, and those scenes are funny because the gorrila doesn't care and get the foods out of his place, and the birds we're crying until they give the foods when it distracted them, and after 2 seconds, they restart crying, which is very funny.
  7. Very good looking title card that is different from usual, which is a nice change too.
  8. Good Ending: While both Zig and Sharko lose their title of best chef next to Marina, the latter did win and Sharko would transform the cake to a Marina statue, and Zig try to eat it, which made Sharko punching him, which was also entairtaining.

The Only Bad Quality

  1. Zig was a bit unlikable for making Sharko struggle with his cooking, even worse, when he comfirmed that his last cake tasted great, he did throw it at the trash, which is outright wrong and just disgusting.

Trivia

  • This is where Sharko gets his cooking abilities in this season and onwards, this was later canonized Sharko being a chef in "Mermaid's Feast" and later "Try My Macaroni".
  • The scene where Bernie having a flashback while tasting Marina's cake is a reference to the moment Anton Ego tastes the Ratatouille in the eponymous 2007 Disney/Pixar movie.
  • The episode is named after French cooking reality show Top Chef.
