Abby Hatcher is a CGI animated children's TV series created by Rob Hoegee that first premiered on Nick Jr. on January 1, 2019, and ended on April 2, 2022.
Plot
The series follows an intelligent and energetic seven-year-old girl named Abby Hatcher and her new friend, the Fuzzlies. The Fuzzlies are quirky creatures that live in her family's hotel. Together with her best Fuzzly friend Bozzly, Abby goes on wild adventures to fix Fuzzly mishaps and help them in any way she can.
Bad Qualities That Can’t Catch Fuzzlies
- While not bad, the CGI animation looks mediocre at best.
- And it's not that bad unlike Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate and other CGI cartoons, some animations can be look stiff and awkward.
- Some character designs can be very uncanny at times. Including Abby Hatcher herself.
- Too many repetitive and annoying episode plots with no chances and those episodes are really formulaic and predictable.
- There are several gross-out moments, such as when Abby Hatcher and Bozzly smelled a stinky smell in the kitchen.
- Some unlikable characters such as Princess Flug, who is a neat freak and a entitled spoiled brat.
- The show's premise was completely unnecessary to make this awful atrocity.
- The voice acting can be summed as mediocre or bland.
- Some questionable scenes for a Nick Jr. Show like tickling someone on their tickle spot.
- It hardly teaches kids anything because it feels like using baby talk can teaches kids a lesson.
Good Qualities
- Some episodes can be very entertaining to watch and not too formulaic for some episodes.
- The characters can be likable, sometimes.
- Guru Studio and Spin Master Entertainment did a good job making this show. But unfortunately, it's considered a commercial failure as it didn't balance success between Paw Patrol and other kids shows.
- While Abby Hatcher can be uncanny look, it's design really passable.
- Some voice actors are decent, including the British ones.
- The theme song and background music are okay.
Reception
The series received a mixed-to-negative reception, having a 5.4/10 on IMDb.
Trivia
- The series was popular in Spain, Mexico, and France.
- Not all of the seasons were available on Netflix and Pluto TV.
- It was an Internet meme in 2020 for its big popularity (Well, sort of).
