Alien Hominid is a run and gun video game developed and published by The Behemoth as a Flash game on August 7, 2002 on Newgrounds. It was then ported to the PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, Mobile, Xbox, Gizmondo, Xbox 360, Game Boy Advance and iOS in 2004 to 2011. The HD Remastered is released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2023.

Why It Rocks

  1. Amazing graphics, especially for a Flash game, that even received ports for consoles and phones. Even if the console versions look like they were Flash games, it still doesn't mean that the graphics will be bad in them, since Alien Hominid was firstly released as a Flash game. This is also pretty neat to make the graphics look like a Flash game on the consoles and even on the phones.
  2. Nice soundtrack, especially in the Flash version, thanks to how Matthew E. Harwood composed the music in almost all versions of the game, while Allister Brimble and Anthony N. Putson did a great job in composing the music for the Game Boy Advance version, especially "The Urban" theme.
  3. The aliens are pretty cute, like if the creators of this game, The Behemoth actually wanted them to be cute, just to make the players really happy and praise the aliens' cute designs, thanks to how The Behemoth designed them. The aliens' eyes are the big example of why they are cute, due to them being really big and adorable.
  4. The game contains not one, but three multiplayer modes. This is a pretty novel idea, especially if you would want more than just one multiplayer mode. This can be even added to make the players who wanted more than one multiplayer modes happy to the point they would even enjoy this game, thank to how the developers made this game.
  5. Alien Hominid is literally an example of how a Flash game can be ported into consoles. An idea to port a Flash game into consoles is literally just a cool idea, especially if people wanted to have ports of Flash games on the console they own, like the PS2, Xbox or the GameCube. The Behemoth is basically the first company ever to come up with that awesome idea.
  6. Fun run-and-gun gameplay. You would really enjoy playing the game, as how the run-and-gun gameplay was made to be fun, just to make you invite your friends to watch how you play the game, similar to Marble Madness.
  7. It can be hilarious to jump into the secret agents and make the run like crazy when Alien Hominid is on them. The secret agents can even kill other agents if Alien Hominid is on them. They also do a pretty funny face when Alien Hominid eats the secret agent's head, causing the other secret agents to scream.
  8. Speaking of funny faces, in the intro, the secret agents also makes a funny intro, possibly to make the players laugh a bit from looking at it, basically if a picture of him making that face or simply pause a YouTube video where the intro is.
  9. A lot of funny minigames, like Missile Launcher. Moreover there is also a tiny sandbox, where you can create your platform levels, decade earlier Super Mario Maker.

Bad Qualities

  1. You lose a life with one hit, making the game so very frustrating.
  2. Due to so much madness happening around you, it's difficult to see where bullets coming at you are fired from enemies.
  3. It's impossible to defend yourself.
  4. Despite the fact that the original Xbox was first released in America, it was never released in North America.
