Bambino Rally 3 (known as Maluch Racer III in Poland) is a racing video game developed by Artifex Mundi and published by Play Publishing on March 1, 2010, for Microsoft Windows only in Poland. Seven years later, it was released worldwide on April 1, 2017, via Steam. It is the third, and so far, the latest installment in the Maluch Racer franchise.
Why It's a Bad Rally
- Atrocious graphics that look like a Nintendo 64 game or an early Dreamcast game. The textures and models are horribly low quality. Games like Klonoa for the Wii or Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe came out before this game and they look much better.
- The music, while good, doesn't fit the game's theme when it plays a heavy metal theme in some levels at all.
- The enemy A.I. is pathetic, on par with Trucker and Tractor Racing Simulation's AI. The enemies always drive the exact same way, they don't care that you can sometimes ran into them or not, and they keep hitting the walls or themselves, which is also pretty weird, like if they actually feel asleep during the races, or they actually have a broken antenna in themselves.
- The tracks are badly designed. Because of this, if you drive fast enough, you can actually get out of the main stage, like if someone actually forgot to make a bigger barrier to not get out of the race.
- God-awful physics. They are on the exact same level as Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing, but worse. The cars literally stick to the barriers, walls, or something else easily, like if they actually had a magnet under them. Also, if you will hit something after driving very fast, your car with behave like it nearly flipped, despite it didn't even move at all to just flip.
- Clumsy controls. The cars usually respond lately, like if the controls were unresponsive. The cars are start in an unrealistic way, and when they turn a little, they actually drift, even though you did not press any buttons at all that drift. Because of this, the controls are like you actually control a box rather than a car.
- While not recycled, the sound effects are weak and they are low-quality.
- Out of all Maluch Racer games, this one is the most broken and buggy Maluch Racer game. It crashes many times during the loading screens, and it sometimes refuses to boot up. Not to mention, sometimes it can even crash the operating system to show the Blue Screen of Death after quitting the game, similar to Sonic's Schoolhouse. It's also not the fault of your computer or the system, but one of the game's codes is screwed up very hard.
- One of the tracks rips-off Rockport City from Need for Speed: Most Wanted.
Redeeming Qualities
- As mentioned before, the music is good, despite the heavy metal music not fitting the game's theme.
- Compared to its prequel, the sound effects were not recycled from the first Maluch Racer game, despite being weak.
- Great main menu that contains great options. Also, this is the only game in the Maluch Racer series where you can change the driving control.
- The logo is admittely original and is very different from most of Play Publishing's games.
