This is probably one of the only two St. Patrick’s Day specials in existence, if you count Rankin-Bass’ “The Leprechauns' Christmas Gold” as a St. Patrick’s Day special and the former manages TO BE WORSE THAN THE LATTER.

Beast Boy’s St. Patrick’s Day Luck And It’s Bad is the 26th episode of the 3rd season of Teen Titans Go!.

Synopsis

After the Titans wrongfully pinch Beast Boy on St. Patrick's Day, a curse of very unfortunate bad luck fall upon them. The only way to be freed from the miserable curse is to retrieve some gold coins from a mystical leprechaun. But achieving this task will require a lot more than they think, and ultimately leads up to a pinching showdown between two rival leprechauns.

Why It's Very Bad And Unlucky

  1. The episode title is very poorly chosen. While the title oddly matches the plot of the episode, it’s too long, specific, and a mouthful. Similar to the infamous Family Guy episode, Brian’s A Bad Father, IT BLATANTLY STATES THE EPISODE’S MAIN PLOT. Which is a bad title for the episode because episode titles should NEVER BE THIS SPECIFIC. Someone on TheTopTens.com even said that the title “sounds like a 4 year old came up with it”. In all honesty, a 4 year old would come up with a much better title than this.
  2. Beast Boy speaking in bad Irish accents is not funny and is rather jarring and goes on too long.
  3. After this, the episode dives into weird territory because after Beast Boy’s Irish accent joke. The Titans start laughing at Robin and say he’s a leprechaun because he is short and it’s honestly cruel.
  4. Robin stripping down to his underwear to get Starfire to pinch him is not only too inappropriate for the target audience, it’s also disgusting.
  5. The Titans pinch Beast Boy because he pinched them and it’s very cruel.
  6. The bad luck montage is disgusting and terrible as it sums up every butt monkey/torture episode ever, some of it is disgusting because it features Beast Boy getting pooped on by birds.
  7. The rest of the episode gets weirder because the Titans try to expose Robin as a leprechaun to lift Beast Boy’s curse.
  8. They do so by attracting leprechauns by making a “traditional St. Patrick’s Day feast”, which consists of corned beef and cabbage. This is wrong because the traditional feast is really ham, cabbage, and potatoes.
  9. The female leprechaun is disturbing because she has beard despite being a female. It’s honestly vomit-inducing because it indicates that in the TTG! universe, female leprechauns have testosterone. Does that mean leprechauns are seahorses in this universe? It’s Fairly OddBaby all over again.
  10. The leprechauns poop a rainbow and the titans follow it.
  11. Plot hole: Why do the all Titans have to touch the leprechaun’s gold if Beast Boy is the only one who isn’t cursed? Also, HOW DID THE OTHER TITANS BECOMED CURSED JUST BY PINCHING BEAST BOY WHO DOESN’T EVEN WHERE GREEN AND IS JUST GREEN OF SKIN?!?! THAT IS NONSENSICAL!
  12. The climax gets very trippy because Robin transforms into a leprechaun, the Titans shriek that they were right this whole time and the leprechaun says that Robin left his ancestors and betrayed them. They have a pinch off (which is just a Dragonballs fight, complete with kamemeha) and Robin goes to the leprechaun land. However, he returns after a minute because the leprechaun’s wife came back. Rendering the ending completely pointless.

Lucky Qualities

  1. The bad luck song is somewhat good.
  2. Aside from the blatant Dragonballs rip off, the pinch off is still cool.
  3. The “romantic leprechaun music” Cyborg plays is peaceful because it sounds like New Age music.
  4. Good ending: Despite the pointless ending, at least the other titan’s curse is of
