Plot
It's Marina's birthday and Zig throws a birthday party just to trap her. Sharko completely forgets that it is Marina's birthday because he ignores it while he is eating breakfast.
No Birthday Qualities
- The infamous opening scene, where Sharko completely ignores Marina's birthday while he is eating breakfast and watching TV. Which causes her to smack his nose using her calendar.
- In the opening scene, the face where Zig falls down on the ground before ripping a calendar page is somewhat disturbing.
- Sharko is very unlikeable in this episode as he potentially DESTROYS Marina's birthday just because it is a trap. However, he does not want Marina to get hurt from her birthday, thus making his actions justified.
- This could potentially be his flanderization as he cannot handle criticisms for ruining Marina's birthday, which is unacceptable in real life.
- This episode is mean-spirited FOR A BIRTHDAY PARTY where Marina celebrates.
- Sharko ignores Marina's birthday while he is eating breakfast, which causes Marina to smack right into the nose.
- He throws a drink filled with poison (made by Zig and Bernie), thinking that Marina would get potentially killed after drinking it.
- When Marina catches Zig (who disguises himself as an alligator), Sharko slams Zig and turns him into an ostrich or a duck.
- He attempts to chase Zig (while holding a sack containing Marina), only for the latter to get stuck and the former steps on the baby octopus' sandcastle, which makes him cry and his father smashes Zig.
- When Zig gives Marina a cake filled with TNTs as candles, Sharko eats it because there are explosives that could literally kill Marina. To make things worse, Marina scolded him for eating the entire birthday cake (this could be justifiable since the TNTs could explode Marina to death).
- And to top it all off, Sharko literally DESTROYS a birthday gift containing a doll, thinking that the gift inside is a trap. This causes Marina to get Sharko out of her birthday.
- The scene where Sharko throws a poisonous drink into the water and rips skins from the fishes can be considered animal abuse.
- When Sharko asks Zig to leave, it is unknown where he and Bernie left.
- Bad Moral: It is okay to destroy a birthday just because it is dangerous, but in real life, people who celebrate birthdays will scold the victim.
Birthday Qualities
- Marina, Zig and Bernie, are the only likable characters in this episode.
- Sharko's actions towards Marina are justified since he does not want Marina to get hurt from her birthday or gets kidnapped by Zig. And at the end, he redeems himself later after realizing what he has done and decided to give her the expensive necklace.
- The way Sharko throws poisonous drink into the water and lands it on the fishes can be humorous, despite it being animal abuse.
- The scene where Zig and Bernie introduce props and wears them is one of the few decent scenes in this episode.
- Good Ending: When Sharko buys a necklace for Marina, she loves it, kisses and hugs Sharko for her gift.
