Bubsy in Fractured Furry Tales
They really meant it when they said that Bubsy was in fractured furry tales! When they said fractured they meant shattered, by the way. What could pawsibly go wrong?

Bubsy in Fractured Furry Tales is a 1994 platforming game published by Imagitec Design for the Atari Jaguar as the third game in the Bubsy series. It is the sequel to Bubsy 2 and is followed by Bubsy 3D'", which was the last game in the series for over 21 years until Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back.

Why It Fractured

  1. It's basically a rehash of the first game, Bubsy in Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind.
  2. Very poor controls. Jumping is very difficult and you gain momentum after releasing the D-Pad making falling very likely.
  3. Bubsy dies in one hit like in the first game, a problem which had been corrected for the second game but for some reason is here again.
  4. Bubsy moves really fast, making it very easy for enemies to hit him.
  5. Levels are too long and hugely tedious.
  6. Poor level design. Some areas are very confusing to navigate, they're too long, there are tiny platforms Bubsy must jump onto, etc.
  7. Terrible enemy placement.
  8. Absolutely terrible hit detection makes it easy to get hit even when Bubsy is clearly not touching a hazard or enemy.
  9. Confusing enemies. Balloons can damage Bubsy when he touches it.
  10. Enemies can kill you before they even do their attack animations.
  11. Frequent cheap deaths.
  12. Short, generic music loops.
  13. The graphics, for an Atari Jaguar game, look average and isn't very nice to look at, the backgrounds look unappealing, as they seem made on a SNES or Sega Genesis, rather than Atari Jaguar, the character and enemy designs are bad, especially Bubsy himself.
  14. Speaking of presentation, the animation moves a lot more poorly (e.g Bubsy being somewhat distorted due to the limited speed with his death animations). All in comparison to the previous games that actually had good animation.
  15. Due to a bug, the exclamation mark in Bubsy's shirt is yellow, when it's supposed to be red!
    • Speaking of yellow in the box, Bubsy's exclamation mark is red, however, a bug causes the exclamation mark to be yellow. So it's basically misleading to the audience.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Despite being generic, there are some good songs in the game.
  2. Aside from the exclamation mark, the front cover of the game box is at a satisfactory level.
