Synopsis

Despite Robin’s warning, the Titans mess around with atomic toots and end up causing a worldwide plague.

Why It's a Butt-Disgusting Atom

  1. This episode is arguably the most disgusting episode of the series BECAUSE THE ENTIRE PLOT REVOLVES AROUND FLATULENCE (FARTING), and it’s a terrible way to start the 6th season of Teen Titans Go!!
  2. This episode also feels like the writers could not think of more productive plot because farts IS NEVER A GOOD THING TO WRITE ABOUT. It feels more in place with the cancelled Nickelodeon cartoon Sanjay and Craig, which based its episode plots around gross-out humor.
  3. The episode also is not funny because the Titans spend a good part of the episode atomic farting, and it's very disgusting.
  4. The "Tootenanny" song is very annoying and cringe-worthy to listen to. Gladly, it's short.
  5. The episode also contains a panty shot where Starfire unintentionally lifts up her skirt. This is very inappropriate for the target audience.
  6. Warped Logic: Farting does not make other people fart too upon smelling it.
  7. The sounds of Titans farting being compared to sounds such as a French horn, truck horn, and the sounds of kittens and ducklings kind of ruins said items.
  8. This episode has the same subject matter as the Total DramaRama episode "Total Eclipse of the Fart", which aired a year after this episode.
  9. The plot dives into weird territory during the second half because the Titans cause a zombie apocalypse by farting, which is very nonsensical!
  10. The idea of the farts unleashing an apocalypse is outright disgusting and just plain stupid.
  11. Bad ending: Deer causes the apocalypse again.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. At least Robin was able to save the world for a little while.
  2. This episode later on got banned because it hadn’t aired on Cartoon Network since December 2019 so we will never see this sorry excuse of an episode again, however, it's currently available to watch on HBO Max.
  3. There is some truth to the episode's plot. Flatulence releases methane, which contributes to global warming.

Trivia

General

  • It has been confirmed that this episode is the season 6 premiere.
  • Cartoon Network hasn’t aired this episode since December 2019, and it's missing from the Cartoon Network App. It’s unknown why this episode no longer airs though it’s probably for the best.
  • We see that the new rock animal that debuted in "The Viewers Decide" is actually a sea turtle.
  • The season's new opening dance sequence debuts in this episode.
  • Owing to the overabundance of fart jokes and time constraints, the farts themselves are pretty much being replaced with real life stock images that somehow are associated to toot noises (during when the four Titans sans Robin fart at each other) to prevent further embarrassment.
  • It is strange that Raven finds farts amusing as she has been shown to find them disgusting in episodes such as "I Used to Be a Peoples".
    • But it is possible that she has changed her perspective prior to this episode.
  • Farting too much won't cause an atomic plague fortunately, but your bottoms do get sore afterwards thanks to the ammonia released.
  • Robin calls Starfire "his love" explicitly for the first time.
  • Starfire is shown to wear pink underwear.
  • The deer in this episode is a gag to how most zombie apocalypse movie has one that gets killed and then becoming a zombie which is a cliche trope.
  • Farts can actually be toxic even though it won't become atomic, due to its lack of oxygen and instead comprise of asphyxiants, which damage your cells in contact, as well as methane and nitrogen. A once-in-a-lifetime fart can even fill in an average person's lungs.
    • In conclusion, it would take a large room of people strapped to space toilets, piped into the victim's breathing mask, or into a gas chamber to kill a person.

Continuity

  • Raven is seen unhooded for the 100th time.
  • Raven displays her love for Pretty Pretty Pegasus as usual.
  • Robin once again is shown portraying his one-sided love for Starfire.
  • Robin's warning once again gets ignored by the four others, and of course, this induces a serious consequence.

References

  • This whole episode, evidenced by the contamination, the hunting scene with the deer, the capture of an infected and Robin trying to find a cure for the plague, was a reference to the movie I Am Legend.
    • It is also similar to The Walking Dead, as both have included a zombie apocalypse.
  • Robin's description of the spread of the virus is a reference to Alice's narration on the spread of the T-virus in Resident Evil: Extinction.
  • Beast Boy when being affected said "I don't feel so good", which is a reference to Spiderman from Avengers: Infinity War who was disintegrating at the end of the said movie.
  • The title is a play on the American businessman named Bud Adams, who was the founder/owner of the Tennessee Titans, an NFL team, for the team's first 54 years.

Errors

  • Cyborg originally forbid Beast Boy to say a fart joke, but he has long been part of many fart jokes in the series already.
  • Since Starfire's fart DNA was in the sonic emitter, there was no way she would've been cured again.
  • Everyone thanks Robin for the cure when it was the Pogo stick.

Running Gags

  • The Titans (except for Robin) farting in each other's faces.
  • Starfire being uncomfortable when Robin shows his love for her.
  • Starfire sacrificing herself to get out of spending the rest of her life with Robin.
