Carl Wheezer, Boy Genius is the second segment of the 15th episode of the third season of The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. This episode premiered on January 26, 2006 on Nickelodeon.

Plot

When Carl's pen pal Elke comes to visit Retroville, he lies to her that he's a boy genius and that Jimmy is his "dimwitted assistant".

Why It's No Boy Genius

  1. Misleading Title: One would think that this is an episode where Carl becomes a genius, but the way this episode is written, it turns out to be nothing like that.
  2. This episode is the Jimmy Neutron equivalent to the SpongeBob SquarePants episode "I'm With Stupid" where both deutertagonists lies to their loved ones that they're the geniuses and that their best friends are the dimwits.
  3. Carl is very out-of-character and is very unlikable because rather than accepting his own mistake, he constantly abuses and blames Jimmy for them.
    • And what's worse, every time Jimmy saves him from them, instead of thanking him for saving his life, he continues to insults him.
  4. Sheen himself isn't any better because he won't let Jimmy tell the truth to Elke about Carl.
    • Sheen becoming more annoying than usual was a sign of what his character will become in the show's spinoff, Planet Sheen.
  5. Get this, it turns out that Elke loves Carl for being a nerd, which doesn't make sense because, isn't Jimmy a nerd too?
  6. Bad Moral: It's not okay if you lie, but when your loved one lies too, then it's okay.
  7. Carl never apologizes for his behavior nor gets punished for it.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Some funny scenes like:
    • Atilla the Hun loving fudge brownies with nuts.
    • Principal Willoughby singing "his name was Rico, he was a show boy!"
  2. Despite Carl being an unlikable, ungrateful jerk to Jimmy, some may see this as him trying to get even for all the time he was used as a guinea pig. That still doesn't excuse Carl for his actions though.
  3. Jimmy, Principal Willoughby and Atilla the Hun are the only likable characters.
  4. It is very satisfying seeing Jimmy stand up to Carl.
