Games that were funded by Kickstarter/Indiegogo projects. This includes not just games, but also game consoles. During the early 2010s when Skullgirls and Shovel Knight made crowdfunding a trend for indie devs, many indie devs saw this as a way to break into the industry via crowdfunding. Examples include Shantae: Half Genie Hero, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, Yooka-Laylee. Usually, these games will have backer goals where the more they raise, the bigger the game's scope will be via DLC/chapters/content.

However, many of these projects, including both the Ouya and Mighty No. 9, and even the cancelled Yogventures due to mismanagement, have proven to be failures that hampered the reputation of crowdfunding video games.

This category will not just include good crowdfunded games and other related media, but also bad/failed ones as well.
