Communicate Openly is the 39th episode of Teen Titans Go! season 5 and the start of the Bumblebee Arc.

Synopsis

Bumblebee becomes the sixth Titan and moves into the Tower, but has a hard time adjusting. Robin is very frustrated at the Titans' inability to make Bumblebee comfortable.

Why It Doesn't Communicate

  1. For starters, this episode is very mean-spirited and Bumblebee is a butt monkey in this episode.
  2. As stated above, Bumblebee is a butt monkey because the Teen Titans (excluding Robin) bully and torment her for no reason.
  3. This is what the Titans do to torment Bumblebee:
    • Gave her dirty laundry as gifts.
    • Made her sleep in a room housing a nuclear reactor that made her ill and eventually mutated her.
    • Starved her by eating all her food.
    • Yelling at her for no reason.
    • Made her sit in Beast Boy's urine because Beast Boy urinated all over the tower instead of the toilet, How stupid can he be to not use a toilet? Also, how was Cartoon Network able to get away with showing urine?
    • Causing her to get stuck in the elevator.
  4. The reason why the Titans torment her is because they're "monster roommates", that's like saying that someone is harassing a person because they're a terrible person. That excuse is very stupid and it tops Patrick's infamous line from The Card: "You can't always expect my brand of stupidity. I like to mix it up, keep you on your toes." The fact the Titans are self-aware makes it even worse.
  5. The dirty laundry, urine, and slime from the nuclear reactor is disgusting.
  6. Bumblebee also doesn't leave the Titans but instead puts up with their abuse.
  7. The Titans don't receive punishment for how they treated Bumblebee in the episode, which makes them a Karma Houdini
  8. Half Bad Ending: The Tower is destroyed and Bumblebee is still mutated

Communicating Qualities

  1. Besides Bumblebee, Robin is the only likable character because he tries to get the Titans to stop tormenting Bumblebee for no reason, even though it took them the whole episode to finally stop.
  2. The Titans do see the errors of their ways when it's too late, when Bumblebee becomes a horribly mutated monster from the radiation.
  3. They do apologize to her in the end.
  4. Half Good Ending: The Titans realize they're abusing Bumblebee for no reason, blow up the nuclear reactor, they apologize to her, and let her sit in the rubble of the tower.
  5. In episodes after, the Titans no longer torment Bumblebee and treat her better so it shows they learned their lesson.
