"Daddy Dearest" (French: "Papa Poule") is the forty-second episode from season two of Zig & Sharko and the one hundred and twentieth episode overall. It was written by Olivier Jean-Marie and storyboarded by Stéphane Annette.

Plot

In this episode, Sharko must sit on an egg until it hatches while defending Marina from Zig at the same time.

Why It Sucks

  1. It is another torture episode for Sharko, and because he need to do something embarrasing, which is to sit on an egg, which is just plain horrible especially that the public laugh about that, which isn't even funny.
  2. Almost no one beside Sharko and Bernie are likable, and a lot of characters are complete idiots in this episode.
    • Zig is at his absolute worst here since he made fun of Sharko, and when Sharko was forced to sit on it, he once in the episode provocated Sharko so that he leave the egg, which succeded and made Sharko extremely upset, also to make things worst, in that scene Marina ordered him to not getting up and stay on the egg, which is even more annoying.
    • Marina is also incredibly annoying here as she force Sharko to sit on the egg just that the baby can be in hot enough to not die, which is just downright stupid as they could just getting an objet on it and wait until it is born.
    • Bernie, while not really unlikable, mostly serve as fillers and his only motivation in the episode is to find the mother, which is okay but he only serve at this and nothing more, which is a shame.
  3. The plot isn't that bad but it is very poorly executed because of the fact that again, this is a torture episode for Sharko, and that he is forced to sit on the egg no matter how much he hate it.
    • Also, it is very poorly written compared to other episodes written by Olivier Jean-Marie since it is more mean-spirited and torturer than his other episodes that he written.
  4. A lot of annoying moments, such as when Marina did everything so that Sharko could sit on the egg again, in which it is very horrible to watch because you can clearly see that he's tired.
  5. While the title card is decent, it is a bit misleading since it had an egg appearing on it, when it's not a chicken that appear but rather an octopus.
    • In fact, the French title of the episode is even more misleading than the title card itself because it is called "Papa Poule", where once again, it's not a chicken baby, in fact a misleading title in the French version did happened a lot of times.
  6. The baby octopus loik rather ugly and disturbing rather than cute, which is unfortunate considering that most babies in Zig & Sharko look cute, but here it isn't the case.
  7. Lot of fillers scenes, such as when Bernie search the mother and that the peoples that he ask who own the eggs stated that they doesn't know, which are very boring to watch, especially that Zig isn't here with him, and this also count as a missed oportunity.
  8. Mediocre Ending: While the baby was finally born, it appear to be a pretty ugly creature, and when Zig did kick it, the baby mother seen it and was very angry, and did hurt Zig a lot, and it end where Sharko brain do sleep.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Sharko and Bernie are likable characters, despite that Bernie mostly served as fillers.
    • Marina, while unlikable, did just wanted that the baby was well-handled, just she didn't did it in the right way.
  2. The plot wasn't that bad and could have been interesting, just it was poorly executed.
  3. There's still one funny moment, which is where Sharko chase Zig when he is so tired that he mostly sleep when running, and fail to hit Zig, and it can be very funny to watch.
