Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure is a 2003 skateboarding game developed by Toys for Bob and published by Activision. It was released for the Game Boy Advance, Nintendo GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The Game Boy Advance version was developed by Vicarious Visions.

Why It Rocks

  1. The game uses the same engine as Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and 4 and it definitely has some of the same control schemes as those games which means the controls are tight and responsive, you can manipulate grinds, manuals and flip and grab tricks and do reverts to manuals which is very advanced for a kids game.
  2. Colorful and cel-shaded graphics due to the usage of RenderWare.
  3. The game has the same open ended level design as Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4.
  4. The game has some of the most memorable levels in a game for kids like Andy's room.
  5. There is high score, extreme score, different collectibles for each character, combo letters, and nail the trick just like the Tony Hawk games.
  6. There are two modes:
    • Kid Mode, where every button does a trick, grind, manual, and grind and manual manipulations which is perfect for beginners
    • Pro Mode, which is for the Tony Hawk's veterans with all of the button combinations to make things work.
  7. There are three Disney movies represented and they are some amazing choices: Toy Story, The Lion King and Tarzan, each with their own quirks and gimmicks. Toy Story uses traditional skateboarding, while The Lion King and Tarzan use hoverboarding.
  8. Grow Up by Simple Plan, the intro song for this game, is still a good song as usual and it's a pretty fitting song for this game too.

Bad Qualities

  1. Olliewood is definitely the worst level in the game. The side missions in olliewood are repetitive and infamous Nokia product placement is horrendous in this level.
  2. The Game boy Advance port is somewhat inferior as you have to unlock areas like Tony Hawk's Underground on the same system.
