F-Zero X is a 1998 futuristic, fast-paced racing game released for the Nintendo 64. It is the second installment in the F-Zero series.
Gameplay
As with the original, the game takes place at a futuristic setting where players race in various courses at high-speed gameplay. Gaining manual boost would be enabled upon completing the second lap, where the "Power" meter would turn green. But using the boost would decrease power, essentially costing health. Contact with other racers and hitting walls would cause damage.
Why It Rocks
- It introduces many new racers to the series, such as Michael Chain, Zoda, The Skull, Jody Summer, Silver Neelsen, Mighty Gazelle, Bio Rex, and Billy.
- Many cool tracks, including Mute City and Big Blue
- Amazing soundtrack.
- The racers now physically appear outside of the F-Zero machines.
- Due to the difficulty, it is satisfying when you win a race.
- It is possible to ram into and destroy any machine, including your rivals'.
- The high speed of the game makes the game very challenging for most players.
Bad Qualities
- Most vehicles have very poor stats, such as Zoda's Death Anchor having a poor Body durability.
- It is easy to fall off a track that has no railing.
- While the game is very satisfying to play, some tracks can be frustrating, leaving those tracks are difficulty spike.
