"French Fries" is the 2nd episode of Season 1.
Plot
Oggy prepares a large plate of French fries, as golden and crunchy as one could wish for. How not to succumb to the call of the fry? For the cockroaches, the temptation is too strong!
Why It Deserve French Fries
- The episode still had the great slapsticks from the previous episode, and they are as funny as ever, especially that this time this episode focus on Oggy try to get the french fries, and this make up for ton of funny moments (even though it count as a torture episode for Oggy).
- Decent animation, even if it slightly washed out.
- The characters are just as likable as they were in "Bitter Chocolate", and the coackroaches are as usual very funny characters, we also had Oggy and Jack who are just as likable as they were before and are also funny, especially Oggy.
- Decent soundtrack that is very fitting for such a plot.
- Great title card that look detailled and give you the idea of what the plot is.
- Good Ending: Oggy finally did get to eat a french fries, only to having a truck getting in his house by accident, covered by French fries, which is hilarous.
The Only Bad Quality
- The ending could still be considered bad to Oggy as he is not happy that his house is covered by French fries.
Trivia
- This is the first time Oggy used his red flyswatter.
- The scene where Oggy falls off from the ceiling after Marky warned him is recycled and slightly edited animation from a similar scene in the pilot.
- This episode marked the first appearance of 'El salsafiore' man who occasionally comes in billboards and TV.
- This is the earliest episode to have censorship, as some broadcasts have edited out the scenes where Oggy's mouth catches on fire and he tries to cool it down.
- One scene from this episode with Oggy chasing after his French fries is used in the credits.
