"Frenemy Mine" is the fifteenth episode in the seventh season of The Fairly OddParents.

Plot

When Timmy saves Vicky's life, her attempt to torment him having backfired, she finds herself ostracized by her fellow malevolent babysitters. Upon Timmy's advice to adopt a friendlier demeanor, Vicky overcompensates and inundates him with kindness. Now, Timmy must devise a plan to revert Vicky to her unpleasant self, as her overbearing friendliness prevents anyone else from approaching him.

Why It Was Your Frenemy

  1. It seems to be a rehash of "Vicky Loses Her Icky" from Season 4, lacking the original episode's charm and humor, and instead comes across as a cruel and creepy variant.
  2. Vicky comes across as extremely unlikable and creepy. The way she's written and depicted in this episode suggests her role may have been initially crafted for her younger sister, Tootie, and then hastily reassigned to Vicky, echoing Tootie's part in "Lights Out," also penned by Kevin Sullivan. For instance, she persistently stalks and bullies Timmy throughout the show, to the extent of excluding others like Chester and A.J. from approaching him. She even gives Timmy a complete makeover, dressing him in attire and a haircut that mirrors her own, and continues to torment him relentlessly.
  3. Plot holes:
    • The episode reveals that Vicky does have a heart, yet in "Tiny Timmy!" from Season 1, it is disclosed that her heart is merely a black hole, a fact that Timmy himself observed.
    • How did Cosmo get his ears pierced with Timmy and Vicky? He would have been spotted, and Timmy would lose his fairies forever.
    • Many people might have witnessed Vicky mistreating Timmy initially, which could have resulted in her dismissal.
      • In the beginning, as the tar trucks pass by, it becomes apparent that they are driverless. Similarly, the front-loader is operating without a driver.
    • Vicky is still a huge fan of Chip Skylark, despite Chip Skylark expressing his hatred of her in his song, "Icky Vicky", and the fact that she no longer liked him after finding out he is not rich.
  4. The jokes get old real fast, such as:
    • Vicky saying "forever and ever" many times to Timmy.
    • Vicky making weird acronyms for Timmy and words coming out of nowhere.
    • Mini Bagel Pizzas being mentioned.
  5. Timmy's parents are irrelevant in this episode.
  6. The usual scenario of Vicky tormenting Timmy, while he tries to evade her, is intensified to such a degree that it becomes more disturbing and malicious than humorous.
  7. The enhanced and overused cliché "Status Quo Is God" trope, as the episode starts and ends as you predict it would.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Timmy and his fairies are still tolerable for the most part.
  2. The plot twist of Vicky not having any friends aside from the B.R.A.T.S. group, her only friends, is kinda interesting and would have been a better idea to explore instead of the actual main plot.
