Don't call me Doc Boy!"

"Heir Apparent" is the thirty-eighth episode in the first season of The Garfield Show.
Plot
Jon and Doc Boy want to inherit their cousin's haunted estate, but in order to do so, one must stay there longer than the other.
Why It Rocks
- The line "Don't call me Doc Boy!" is pretty funny, along with Garfield saying to Jon sarcastically that he has a great future as a weatherman on television and even Jon finding a monster in almost every room door.
- The plot is very interesting, and just like "Johnny Dukey Doo" from Johnny Test (2005), it parodies the Scooby-Doo! franchise by having Jon, Garfield, Odie and Doc Boy staying in their cousin's manor in order to inherit it, and they discover that it's full of haunted things and Garfield even does the "unmasking the ghost" scene.
- Speaking of which, the haunted house and the creatures inside look pretty cool and are indeed scary, and the chase scenes were top-notch and entertaining to watch.
- The way Garfield gets rid of the mice bats is very clever, as he puts on a black cape and says in a Dracula-like accent that the handsome pussycat went that way - causing them to escape the haunted manor, along with how he stopped the monsters by pushing them with an imitating knight.
- Great Plot Twist: It turns out that the monsters were just robots from an amusement park, while the zombie was Jon & Doc Boy's cousin Ichabod as he set up the zombies & monsters thing as a test to see who's more brave to win the estate.
- Good Ending: Although Cousin Ichabod doesn't give the estate to Jon or Doc Boy as they were cowardly, he does get his comeuppance when Garfield gets the knight to push him into the ceiling lamp, and it ends with the knight giving Garfield a massage at his house.
The Only Bad Quality
- Cousin Ichabod didn't give his estate to Jon or Doc Boy as they were too cowardly, which was a bit inconsiderate, but he did get his comeuppance as mentioned above.
Reception
It holds a rating of 7.2/10 on IMDB.
Trivia
- The robots resemble the monster of Victor von Frankenstein.
