Horrid Henry's Krazy Karts is a 2022 kart-racing video game based on the CITV animated series Horrid Henry. It was developed and published by P2 Entertainment and Mobile Pie for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS.
Horrid and Krazy Qualities
- The game feels like a free Flash or Unity browser game that someone greenlit for a full console/PC release like Cartoon Network: Battle Crashers.
- Ironically, the game was also released for mobile, meaning it should've just stayed on mobile platforms instead.
- The controls are limited as you can't do anything other than push a button to accelerate and slow down.
- The gameplay feels kind of like a cheap clone of Hill Climb Racing with Horrid Henry slapped on it.
- It was overpriced at launch, costing $24.99 which is too much for a game that doesn't surpass mobile/browser game quality.
- The tracks are repetitive. Despite there being 40 of them, they are really just four different environments with 10 tracks each.
- Unlike other kart-racing games, you cannot get a boost at the start of a race no matter how long you hold down the button but somehow the AI can.
- All the voice clips are just taken from the animated series with no new voice lines.
- The scrolling can be quite choppy at times.
Good Qualities
- It is at least faithful to the animated series its based on, unlike Horrid Adventure and The Good, The Bad, and the Bugly.
- It is actually an improvement over the past three Horrid Henry games due to it not being made by Asylum Entertainment.
Reception
Nintendo Life gave it a 6/10.[1] It wasn't reviewed by many critics.
