Plot

Exasperated by the reflections of Thérèse who does not understand that Maxime's grandfather is dead and not lost, Titeuf ends up getting angry in front of the whole class and comes across as insensitive.

Why It Is Insensitive

  1. To start with, Thérèse is at her absolute worst and her stupidity had gone way too far, since because of the fact that she don't understand when Titeuf explain to her that Maxime grandpa is dead (well he say lost), she say that she going to find him, when it is easy to know that he's dead.
    • Also, when Titeuf say "Grandpa" instead of "Pépé", she say but what is a Grandpa, because of how annoyed Titeuf was at her due to how dumb she is, he say that we don't care about Grandpa and instead it is "Pépé", and once again, she don't understand and say to her friends that Titeuf say "He don't care about Grandpa dead", which everyone did side against Titeuf because of that, when they already know how stupid Thérèse is.
    • Another horrible part is that because of how annoyingly dumb she is, Titeuf did yell that he's death, and unintentionally he did made Maxime crying, also
    • The worst part of this is that in the ending, she still say that she will try to find Maxime grandpa, does she don't understand that he died?
  2. It is a massive 7 minutes torture episode for Titeuf and is maybe even worse than "Bad Reputation", which was not even close to being as bad as here.
    • In fact, this episode is even a rehash of that one because Titeuf got accused of something that he didn't, only here it is way worse and instead of proving that Thérèse is wrong, he is deprimed and horribly treated.
  3. The worst part about this is that they don't even try to ask Titeuf if it was true and instead just truth Thérèse and because of this, Titeuf got rejected for absolutely no reasons other than how dumb Thérèse is.
    • And when Titeuf tell them that it's because Thérèse don't understand anything when he tried to say something they don't even truth him and instead reject him, we know that mocking a death member is a horrible action but Titeuf did never said it.
  4. Both Nadia and especially Ramatou are unlikable as well, since they don't even try to know if Titeuf really said that, but rather truth Thérèse, and this was what make this episode atrocious.
    • Not to mention that they always reject him when he does try to explain what happened, but they don't want to know anything at this point.
    • To make thing worse, Thérèse did once again say something very awful due to being dumb and they both say shut up to Thérèse so they should have know in the start that Titeuf didn't say something this horrible.
    • Nadia isn't as unlikable as in most episodes of season 4 and is slighly likable but she slap Titeuf more than often and once again, she doesn't even try to understand what going on.
      • Also, she slap Titeuf because both him and Maxime started to fight, when in reality it wasn't Titeuf who started it but rather Maxime because of how stupid he act here, but to be honest, the reason why he is so angry is because he lost his grandpa, and he did truth Thérèse when he should never truth her.
    • Ramatou is howewer shockingly worse than Nadia here, she said that she won't ever calling him pretty locks, when in reality she also didn't tried to ask Titeuf if it was true or not, and when he said that he tried to explain to Thérèse, she don't truth him and instead reject him, until the end where Maxime finally did know that it wasn't what he said.
  5. For some reasons, Hugo is nowhere to be seen in this episode other than in the beginning where we can see him in class, he isn't even with Titeuf, when in most episodes of season 4 he is a main character.
  6. There's a lot of plot holes in this episode, as usual with many of the season 4 episodes.
    • While Titeuf suffer from being accused of something horrible, why does Manu does not try to say something to the girls that it isn't what he said and that Thérèse just didn't understand what he said.
    • If Maxime was too sad about his grandpa dead, why does he come to school, since being deprimed and coming at a public place for almost an entire day is not a good idea.
  7. It's overall give a horrible moral that if someone said anything bad about a dead person, then you should bully him/her.
    • While true, insulting a dead person is real wrong but here not only does Titeuf didn't said anything like that but even if he would said that, the way he got treated is still way too harsh, you simoly cut tie with that person or not talking to him/her until they retain their lesson, which would have been slightly better.
  8. In fact, because of being an extreme torture episode, it feel like it's the French version of "Ranma, You Are Such A Jerk" from Ranma 1/2, which was also a horrible episode and also an extreme torture episode for Ranma for no reasons, here it's the same thing but it's because of a different topic that is howewer even worse than that Ranma episode.
  9. The title card, while not bad and better than most season 4 episodes title cards, is still poorly made at best because it isn't that detailled, still look better than some other.
  10. Maxime, despite being a likable character due to his loss of the grandpa, also act stupid because he didn't think of if that true, and until the end of the episode, he is against Titeuf when he tried to tell him he didn't said it.
  11. In fact, the episode is so mean-spirited that it is almost unwatchable, and is probably one of the most extreme torture episode of the whole French cartoons industry, at least mentality because aside from the minor fight with Titeuf and Maxime, there's no physical torture so at least that a plus.
  12. There's a very disturbing moment where Titeuf said that he will kill Thérèse, howewer he just probably didn't mean it and was just angry to being accused of something that he didn't said.
  13. In fact, this episode is so badly made that it could feel like a complete insult to the peoples that lose their family member and show that you should act like that, when it definitely isn't how you should be acting.
  14. The animation and musics are once again very bland, especially the music itself that isn't even fitting for most of it because this episode is supposed to be sad due to Maxime loss of grandpa, but no, also the animation is once again very stiff and worse than usual.
  15. It had some missed oportunities that could have given a decent episode or at least an average episode that would be better.
    • First off, they could have showed flashback to know who was Maxime grandpa and even show moments with both Maxime and his grandpa, this would had resulted in a way better episode or at least would had probably resulted for the episode being emotional but no.
    • It could also being multiple main characters try to stop him from crying and talk about his dead grandpa (without Thérèse of course), though not for the whole episode.
  16. While it isn't really horribly short, the length of the episode (7 minutes) isn't really appropriate for such a topic, 11 minutes would have been much better, although they probably didn't wanted to make the list of episodes length inconsistent.
  17. The fact that Ramatou did say that Titeuf should be ashamed to fight Maxime was true but it is partially incorrect because not only it is Maxime that started it but also Titeuf didn't even wanted to fight him in the first place.
  18. It overall ended up being not only one of, if not the worst episode of season 4 but also ended up being probably one of the worst episode of the entire series, and the whole series had over 320+ episodes if you count all the four seasons!!

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Titeuf and Manu are the only truly likable characters of the episode and we can easily feel sorry for Titeuf because of how unfairly treated he is.
    • Maxime is also a tolerable character and we can easily feel sorry for him because of his grandpa loss, despite that he acted stupidly for most of the episode.
  2. Good Ending: Titeuf did talked about what we became if we are dead, and say that grandpa is probably a star, after that Maxime did heard him along with Manu and understood that he didn't say anything about his grandpa, and explain to everyone and then they stopped thinking that Titeuf say this.
  3. The title card is not the worst from season 4.
    • The title card also had the only good music of the episode because it fit the premise and sound sad.
  4. To be honest, this episode could have been much better if it was about Maxime memory about his grandpa.
  5. While Titeuf is horribly tortured for something that he didn't said, at least he didn't tried to commit suicide compared to those two episodes where one character try to commit suicide because of peoples torturing them.
