"I Swap Moms" is the 125th episode from Crayon Shin-Chan, it was first aired in 1994 in Japan and was released in 2001 for the International dubs.

Plot

Misae had enough of Shinnosuke mischievous behavior, so she want to give him to Nene mom and had Nene instead, except that it doesn't happen like she wanted...

Why It Should Be Left

1. The problem with this episode is that not only does it is about Shinnosuke mom that want to give him to Nene's mother and Misae want to adopt Nene instead, which is just terrible and this is why the concept of the episode is so terrible.
   • In fact, speaking of that, there's a Doraemon episode that execute this concept much better because that episode did it but in the sense that the characters wanted to change their mom to get an unique experience, here howewer it is nothing like that.
2. Misae is unlikable as she doesn't want to had Shinnosuke anymore, just because he causing troubles.
3. Even when you're not counting the bad plot of changing their moms, the episode had a horrible pacing that is very slow especially for Shin-Chan standards, because of barely having any jokes and because it is mostly a torture episode for Shinnosuke.
4. It is a torture episode for Shinnosuke, as not only does his mom want to change him over Nene, but also he is forced to play games that he doesn't like, whuch is even more annoying to see than it's already is.
5. Even though it is a torture episode for him, Shinnosuke is no better as he harass Nene's mom because he think that she his new mom, yep that why Misae got passed as a complete fool.
   • The problem with this is that not only it is innapropriate for a kid show but also Shinnosuke is not adapted for this kind of things, and even though what he did was bad, he maybe did this with accident because he might not know what he does.
6. Misleading title: The title is called I Swap Mom but in reality, it is just an idea from Misae and doesn't actually happen in the episode at all.
7. The scenes where Shinnosuke jump on Nene mother is very uncomfortable to watch and could also be seen as innapropriate for a kid show, but howewer those innapropriate moments are common in the Shin-Chan franchise.
8. Bad moral: If you had enough of your child mischiefs, does make him changing parents and you are in a peaceful place, this is a horrible moral that should never be seen in any shows for kid and even in general, not to mention that doing that in real life would be illegal, at least if you don't call for making him/her being in an adoption place.
9. Horrible ending: While both Shinnosuke and Nene doesn't swap moms thankfully, Shinnosuke does things that annoy Nene's mom, and Nene got slap on her face, making her crying, even worse her mom did slap her for no reasons, this could easily be seen as child abuse, in fact it is so bad that it make Ojamajo Doremi slapping scenes look less painful.
   • Also, Nene is only 5 years old, where in Ojamajo Doremi the characters are mostly 8-11 (at least the main characters and most of the secondary characters), so this is also one of the reason why It is even worse here.
   • In addition it is extremely mean-spirited, as if this episode wasn't mean-spirited enough.

Redeeming Qualities

1. At least the animation is still good.
2. Shinnosuke (except when he annoying Nene mom) and Nene are likable characters.
3. Despite the ending being horrible, at least Shinnosuke and Nene didn't swapped moms.
