Kirby: Red Diamond is an unlicensed bootleg game that was released in around 2003 for the Game Boy Advance, although this is a PocketNES conversion of a pirated copy of Kirby's Adventure on the Nintendo Entertainment System.
Why It's Not A Star
- When you start up the game, you'll see two artworks of Kirby, and the second one is VERY LAZY.
- There's also misspelled words on the first artwork as you can see: "Red Diamand Kibby's Star"
- False Advertising: The box-art claims that this supports multiplayer, when it doesn't.
- Not only does this count as misleading, but there's even a website talking about it.[1]
- It even claims to be made by Nintendo. Nintendo wouldn't even make a game with such low quality like that.
- To make matters worse, back in 2004, there was an auction for said game, only for it to be taken down a day later.
- The box-art for this game is just a lazy rip-off of both Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land and Kirby & the Amazing Mirror's box-art.
- For example: Notice how the words are all copied from both games. You can find more on the website on WIDtBSUbK#2. And to add insult to injury, this bootleg has the nerve to completely plagiarize not only the box-art, but the screen-shots from said games.
- Speaking of sloppy artwork, the artwork looks like it was made by Patrick Star using Microsoft Paint. That's how lazy the artwork really is.
- What's worse about this is that this was rumored to come out, only to turn out to be completely untrue.
- Besides the efforts the pirates put in, this game is just a PocketNES conversion of a pirated copy of Kirby's Adventure (Which was already remade for the GBA as Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land). Here's proof in this video. What makes this even worse is that it's easy to find them at flea markets.
The Only Redeeming Quality
- Gameplay and quality-wise, it's the same as Kirby's Adventure, albeit with less-than-stellar emulation to boot.
