Wait a minute, SpongeBob predicted the future? Wasn't that the Simpsons' job to do that?

Kwarantined Krab is the second segment of the 22nd episode of the twelfth season, and 262nd overall episode of SpongeBob SquarePants. In this episode, The Krusty Krab goes under emergency quarantine, but no one knows who carries the mysterious illness...
Kwarantined Kwalities
- Somewhat disturbing and unfitting animation.
- Mr. Krabs acts so selfish in this episode. He forces everyone to get into the freezer, which is horrible of him.
- The infamous closeup of Spongebob and his friends getting the diseases.
- This episode was poorly timed as it aired during the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, as early as May 2020. Because of this timing, the episode (and Hiccup Plague, which is even worse) was pulled from airing until 2022. Even when the episode finally aired in early 2022, the COVID-19 pandemic was still an issue in the United States. While the pandemic happening wasn't a fault of the episode, Nickelodeon could have at least put a temporary ban on it before airing it for the first time.
- Even the banning of this episode was poorly handled as it exposed just another one of Nickelodeon's major flaws.
- This episode may contribute to desensitizing the COVID pandemic, which is potentially problematic especially for the time it was released.
Safe Kwalities
- Considering that this episode was written in mid-2019 AND expected to air in 2020, this episode accurately predicted the future in a fashion only The Simpsons is known for.
- One can also argue that the 2007 (produced in 2006) episode, Fungus Among Us, also predicted the COVID-19 pandemic.
- The humor in this episode is decent and up to late Season 12 standards.
- While the animation is disturbing, it is still colorful, high-quality, and beautiful, and the parts can be animated well when the episode's animation is not disturbing and when there's no close-ups.
Reception and Temporary Ban
"Kwarantined Krab" was initially meant to air during 2020, but was pulled from television until April 29, 2022 and from Paramount+ until 2023, due to the plot revolving around a pandemic, as the real-world COVID-19 pandemic was first detected near the end of 2019.
