Love Muffin is the second episode of the third season and forty-seventh episode overall of Henry Danger, premiered on September 24, 2016 to an audience of 1.90 million viewers.
Why No One Would Want to Eat Any of Gwen's Spiteful, Disgusting Muffins
- Just to get the first negative quality out of the way, this is not only bad, but it very disturbing. The reason it can be seen as such is because Gwen (a grown woman) tried to seduce Henry (who was 15 years old in this episode) into falling in love with her, which can be seen as ephebophilia, mind you.
- Gwen is absolutely unlikeable in this episode, because she not only got away with almost trying to groom Henry, but she escaped while knowing Henry and Ray's secret identities as Kid Danger and Captain Man respectively and threatened to share this information online if she did not escape, rendering her a Karma Houdini.
- Ray (who was not nearly as bad Gwen in this episode) told Gwen about his and Henry's secret identities of being superheroes 'and' brought her into the Man Cave.
- Jasper attempting to give Henry mouth to mouth resuscitation can be seen inappropriate to younger audiences because someone can easily mistake it for kissing and it may confuse those who are developing their understanding of relationships and personal boundaries.
- While it is not a bad thing to have same sex kissing in public, having scenes like that appear on kids television is considered inappropriate for the above reason.
- While Piper had every reason to be angry at Jasper for taking her curling iron, her actions were not justified as she ripped off his eyelashes without any reason whatsoever. Also, she had no reason to be in this episode since she only appeared for one minute, and she served as plot convenience for this one.
- Bad ending and moral: Apparently, the power of hate is much stronger than love, according to Schwoz. I'm sorry, but how does that work?! Additionally, Henry and Ray are idiots towards the end because they simply let Gwen escape free. The situation could have been avoided if either one of them used their laser remotes or the memory wiper to erase her memory.
The Only Redeeming Muffin That We Can Eat
- Henry, Charlotte, Jasper, and Schwoz are the only characters who are likable in this episode.
- The same applies to Ray as well because while he did start off as unlikeable in the beginning, he does get better towards the end of the episode and how he handled the Gwen situation upon realizing his mistake.
