Madden NFL 22 is an American football video game based on the National Football League (NFL), developed by EA Tiburon and published by Electronic Arts. It is an installment of the long-running Madden NFL series, and was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia. NFL quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who played against each other the previous season in Super Bowl LV, were both featured on the cover of the game, the first joint cover since Madden NFL 10. This was the last Madden game released before the death of John Madden, the franchise's namesake.

Why It Got Injured

1. First off all, it's exactly the same game, a reskin, a carbon-copy from previous Madden game, but here is even worse.
   • Just look at the training mode, you can see it has the logo from the previous installment, showing how lazy the developer is.
   • It's also worth pointing out that they reused the animation from previous game.
2. Atrocius graphics that looks like a seventh-gen or Wii U game, with awful face quality models, poor lighting, and the texture is extremely low quality. This is because the Frostbite engine is designed for first-person shooters and not for sports games.
3. The presentation is still awful, it's exactly reskins from Madden NFL 21.
4. Because of this problem, the game had numerous of bugs and glitches at launch, with some bugs and glitches can be funny to look at. For example: Catching ball with his head and getting stuck, or a house suddenly appears in the football field.
5. Clunky animation that looks like an action figure.
6. AI is absolutely broken, making some of them are hard and other are incredibly easy to dodge.
7. Not all modes are returned, the only feature to be returns are hiring coach, that was from Madden NFL 2004 and remove this feature from Madden NFL 13 and put back this feature in this game. But here, the hiring coach is extremely downgraded, instead, it's a bland skill tree that are not customizable.
8. Face of the Franchise are still has a suffer for poor written story. yes, you can customize your face and body parts, but still has a problem. This FOTF story was starting from college football to NFL, but there's new features in this mode was the choice system, this feature can you choose what your choice you want for, but no matter what your choice to choose from is exactly the same.
9. The Yard, which just like NFL Street, but here is extremely dumbed down, the problem is certain costumes are locked behind the paywall and you can't customize the costume like previously. And the gameplay is absolutely not fun.
10. Franchise mode is still barebones.
11. Madden Ultimate Team is still has a problem from previous installment, but it's even worse here, it's exactly gambling addiction and very addictive for children. And worse, is the MuT's points are extremely overpriced. This is the reason why the Madden franchise has so many revenue.
12. Some players has inaccurate ratings.
13. The PC Port is a really lazy port, it's basically a copy-paste port from current-gen console and it doesn't help much, the current-gen console didn't has a new features from next-gen.
14. The In-depth Scouting is not available at the launch until October.
15. The rap-song remix "Oh no" from N.O.R.E is extremely bad and annoying.

Redeeming Qualities

1. As mentioned above in WIGI#2, Some bugs and glitches can be funny at times.
2. At least the game has been fixed most of bugs and glitches and it did apologize for rushing the game, but still not a good game.
3. Some features are returning to this game, like weekly game plan.
4. As mentioned above, It did adding the In-depth scouting on October 2021 update.

Reception

At release, the game received mixed reviews by critics, but overwhelming negative by players, criticism for being reskin with the same gameplay, same problem, and all modes that will be promised is still not available.
