Man Up is the 6th episode of The Powerpuff Girls reboot.

Plot

Buttercup adopts a New Age attitude after letting new villain Manboy escape and trashing up a New Age festival in a blind rage as a result of him calling her "princess". In order to defeat Manboy when he returns to take revenge, Buttercup aims to strike an order of balance between peace and struggle.

Why It Never Mans Up

1. It somewhat feels like a rehash of the original series episode "Makes Zen to Me", only except Buttercup beats up Fuzzy Lumpkins for no reason rather than beating up Manboy over him calling her "princess" and the teacher was a hippie instead of an old Chinese man. And Buttercup here shows her new personality unlike in the original.
2. Buttercup is intolerable at the start here, as she burns down the meditation guide Blossom gave him, and then she basically beats Manboy up and destroys the fair just because he called her "princess". Speaking of which, she punched Bubble's eye. Sounds familiar?
3. Speaking of which, Manboy (The Powerpuff Girls, 2016) is a very bland, generic and uncreative villain. He is an unlikable character who went against Buttercup just because of her opposite gender to the point where he wanted the town renamed "The City of Mansville", which sounds laughably corny.
4. Buttercup's new side isn't any better than the one seen earlier, as she became a generic hippie stereotype and changed her name to "Moonbeam Sunshine", much like everyone else in the fair she was in.
5. Manboy having an army of stakes seems really random and out of nowhere, along with a talking scarf as Buttercup's hippie guide.
6. There were stock water and fire screenshots when Buttercup was telling the talking scarf that meditation isn't her thing, which is very lazy.

Redeeming Qualities

1. Blossom and Bubbles are surprisingly tolerable characters here, as they try to get Buttercup to relax and do take her to a meditator for help.
   • Buttercup's new personality, while generic, does make her more likable than at the start.
2. The ending was okay with Buttercup saying she's a changed Powerpuff and making her sacrifices despite them being pointless.
